Reed checked in from the Fred Hall Show down in San Diego and just heard from Capt Ryan Bostain aboard the San Diego 3/4 day boat. The have limits of Yellowtail for their 20 anglers from 16 to 22 lbs, they were biting everything today. When you come out with us make sure you have your passport or passport card, cost is $145 per person. This past weekend we went out with 33 anglers on both of our trips. Saturdays fishing was a little bit better as far as quality is concerned. On both trips we ended up with limits of rockfish but Saturday we caught 80+ red rockcod to go along with 3 lingcod and plenty of chilies and Boccaccio. Sunday we had a bit of a wind swell come up making the drift rather fast. Sundays count was 63 reds 2 lings and limits of rockfish. The weather forecast looks good for this week.

Say what????? Limits of Yellowfin (25-45 pounds) the last day of November and after our last storm. Yup! Great sign of 100-200 pound plus Bluefin too, but the couple bites we had got away quickly. We have a few more trips this week before we go to the boat yard.

July 25
    A little bit of a slower day out here for us.
    
      We started our morning off all alone where we saw a few big schools late afternoon yesterday figuring we'd for sure be in them.  Un touched schools didn't make them bite any better.  We fished and caught a few in the same zoneish that we've been fishing before looking elsewhere for something fresh.  We ended right back where we'd been and saw the same thing.  Big schools that don't bite well.  We managed a few more of the 60-80 pound grade and a few handfuls of the 25-40 pound grade and some more 18-25 pound yellowfin before it got dark on us.  The weather all day was nice and we're headed back in now with fillet mignon coming up shortly. I hope I made this trip sound fun because that's what it was.  We were drifting 75 percent of the time with a chance any second for a bite. Thanks to Paul and the gang.  We always have fun together.
                            

 

So far this year we have had absolutely phenomenal yellowtail fishing as well as a better chance than ever, in the history of Southern California to catch a bluefin over 200lbs! We are excited to announce we have multiple openings on trips that will be targeting these big grade of yellowtail, nice yellowfin and trophy size bluefin! Good afternon faithful Supreme followers. Checking in from the bridge as we head south to the tuna grounds on this 2 day adventure. Tommy, Susan and the crew would like to start by thanking Mr. Robin Gledhill for putting together yet another great group for his annual Blue-White 5 day charter. He never ceases to make it a pleasurable vacation for both his anglers as well as the crew. From 0 dark thirty to night fall with bent rods and the variety of fish coming over the rail to the evenings hosted by Chef Shawn with his A+ meals and Mr. Gladhill serving up the numerous different wines that are brought along to wet the lips after a busy day of fishing. We always enjoy watching our buddy Kenny "Hammertime" Holland engage in battle with any fish he swings on because let me tell you, that's a show folks, that one intense fella! Our own Capt. Tommie "Gunny" Miles found out that himself and Kenny spent time on the same ship at the same back in the 1980's when Gunny was in the Marine Corps and Kenny was in the Navy!!! Small world!! Thanks once again Robin for a great trip and and we look forward to seeing you and the gang next year.

So as I check in here, we have her pointed south toward a nice looking pocket of water that we are hoping will be holding a nice kelp or maybe a lucky school of tuna to get the trip started. We shall find out just before dinner tonight. The weather isn't too bad at the moment, a little wind and a hint of a roll when the boat stops, but shouldn't be to bad for us though. Let's hope everything weatherwise prevails so we can have a productive day tomorrow. We wanna welcome Chef David "Shabba" Schooler back into the galley for the next couple trips after a little bit of time off. Always fun having that guy around the boat. He started things off with a real tasty lunch this afternon by serving up a cheese ravioli topped with marinated chicken and peso sauce sided with a chicken ceaser salad. And of course tonight we'll have a prime rib dinner for the guys which is always a crowd favorite.

That's it for now folks, wish us calm seas and bent rods tomrrow as well as Captain Drew to enjoy his couple days off with his wife and Domino the dog after over a month out here on the boat. I know right now as I type this up, he's glued to his TV catching up on the final season of Breaking Bad (him and I are addicted to that show!) Polaris Supreme Trip Report 08-03-2016 Today we started our first full day of fishing on our annual Hampton four day. We started the morning fishing the beach in search of Yellowtail. Conditions were tough and we opted to head off shore and search the warm blue waters for a nice kelp or a biting school of tuna. We managed to find some nice kelps, with little on them. We managed to some playground grade Yellows and Dorado, but fortunately for them they were all thrown back so we may be able to catch them next year. However we did catch a few adults among the babies, they were a welcome addition to our frigid RSW fish hold. Over all a tough day with fish few and far between. We are making a move south tonight to put us in position for tuna and yellowtail fishing tomorrow morning. Wish us luck, The Supreme Team

July 9

We had another good morning today. We got on the fish around 6:30 in the morning and fished it until it went dead at 8:30. 20-25 pound yellowtail. Uh huh. After that we scratched another dozen fish on a few stops and decided to take off around 10 in the morning. We looked around until dark in good looking water but never found anything. A lifeless ocean outside the islands unfortunately.

So we have to head north tonight and we'll be looking for tuna tomorrow until we have to go home. The weather is starting to get choppy where we are now. My legs are spread outside my shoulders to help keep my balance. I think we should have some descent weather where we'll be tomorrow morning but it looks like the wind is on it's way.
