Polaris Supreme Trip Update 08-05-2019 Today started off great. We had a nice little night bite on yellowtail and picked up a few white Seabass to go with it. The quality yellowtail is gorgeous! After daylight things pick back up and we had great fishing all way through midday. Half of the fish was 25 to 30 pound range yellowtail. Although a little windy at times our weather was pretty good all day. Definitely going to give this a try again tonight and tomorrow. The Polaris Supreme Crew!

Polaris Supreme Trip Report 07-11-2016 Good evening folks, Polaris Supreme checking in. We started our day in the same area where we had phenomenal yellowtail fishing yesterday. The bait was there, the birds were there and the current was there, but for some reason the yellowtail were not. We did manage to pick away at a couple yellowtail, but we just couldn't get the ball rolling. After accepting the fact that the yellowtail pulled a no-show, we decided to make our way offshore in hopes of better things. And indeed better things we found! We spotted a big beautiful kelp patty that had a jumbo school of large hungry yellowtail beneath it. It was a day saver! These fish were biting the fly line and yo-yo jigs. We also saw a couple nice Dorado on the kelp but they did not like our offerings. We are now making way back up north to another area where we will be finishing off our trip by fishing for those larger size yellowtail once again. Also, sorry for the lack of pictures today.  I'm not sure how to write about today because I'm not sure how I feel about today.  I'm definitely proud of us.  We fished hard today.  A lot of the boat was up before 4 trying to get a bite going and didn't let up till dark.  Now that's some hardcore fishing right there.

 We started in the last weeks hot spot.  Us and 2 other boats.  It didn't take long for the 2 other boats to leave the zone.  They were both on the latter parts of there trips and needed to head north.  We stuck it out as long as we could picking one here and one there along with a bounty of skipjack but most of the passengers stuck it out and stayed at the rail.  Like I said, I'm proud of them.  3 hours and 30 fish later we gave up and headed to different grounds in a direction for a boat more fresh out on there trip.  After lunch we arrived and again, I'm proud of these guys.  Once again we were picking one tuna here and one tuna there along with more skipjack and small dorado but once again these guys kept at it and fished hard.  Well the ratio got better and better until at the end it was pretty good fishing.  The grade could've been one more notch up but it is what it is and we understand that.

 We're on our way to try and make some mackerel and we'll be headed to cow town the following day.  We're going to give it at least a day and give everyone on board an opportunity to catch a major cow tuna.  Wish us luck.
      

We had a very very good afternoon of yellowtail fishing today. The grade was 16-22 pounds with some going larger. We took off at dark and will be looking offshore tomorrow for wahoo and dorado.

Well, we had a great day today. Everybody had a blast fishing lots 60 -100 lb. tuna. Pat Jaeger landed a 195 and a 213 pounder. Chuegy pulled in a 225 pounder. There were a couple more around 165 or so. We did stop at lunch for a delicious pork shank with spiced white beans and saffron pilaf. It was really good. And our weather is also good. So another wonderful day out here. Look at our schedule and find a trip that will work in your schedule and come out and have some fun.

We're off to a very god start here this morning," said Mike Pritchard. "We're down here at about the 100 mile mark with very nice weather. We're doing well on the kelps and have some open water jig strikes. So far we have 71 Yellowfin Tuna, 61 Yellowtail and a handful of Dorado & Skipjack, for 26 anglers.

"We do leave on a 1.5 Day trip tomorrow night there is still room and the weather should be good. We'll check back later."

Captain Mike Pritchard called in this afternoon to let us know that The Tribute is running an overnight trip departing tomorrow night. We will be fishing the Coronado Islands for Yellowtail.
