Capt Mike Pritchard from the Tribute called in a final count for their 1.5 day charter, they had some great fishing today. We had limits of Yellowfin Tuna, a couple Skipjack and a couple Yellowtail. We have been seing a little bit of Bluefin above the border, but getting them to bite is another story. All in all it was a fun day on the water, the quality of the Yellowfin has been up into the mid 30 lb range. Captain Mike Pritchard called in this morning with an update from the Tribute. So far off to a great start we have over 75 mixed fish. We have 30 Bluefin Tuna (20 to 45 pounds). We have 40 Yellowfin Tuna and a handful of Yellowtail. Extended 1.5 day trip departing at 5 PM on Friday night. We have seen some tuna up to 120 pounds caught in this zone.

Hello Everyone, Today spent the morning catching some great premium Yellowtail with some Bluefin mixed in. The second half of the day was spent searching for larger grade Bluefin Tuna. We eventually found an area of larger fish. Ranging in size from 50-130lbs. We managed to land 2 in the 60 lb class. Nice to see that there are still larger ones around. We are in tomorrow and out again for 3. Will Report again tomorrow, Team Supreme

We finished up the trip fishing a high spot for yellowfin tuna and yellowtail We ended up with a great well-rounded three-day trip. We were so busy we just didn't have time to take a lot of pictures.

The Polaris Supreme Crew!

Good evening Polaris Supreme family. Today was our first full day of fishing at the tuna grounds. We got here about 0800 and went straight into wahoo mode. The skinny's didn't wait too long to show themselves. Getting a troll fish here and there, they sure seemed to like the live bait when we stopped on the jig strikes. Things change from day to day, wherther it be bait, bombs raiders...this morning, live sardines looked to be the bait of choice. After tagging a few dozen of the toothy critters, we got anchored up and went into big tuna mode. Kites out, lines in the water, time to try and chum up the big boys. It wasn't too long before Chuck hooked into something real nice. On his first long trip, he wound up putting a 145 on the deck for a new personal best. The afternoon showed to be pretty slow which can be pretty typical. The guys fished hard though. Eventually the sharks got on us, but not too bad. Could be a lot worse. We hooked a couple more throughout the afternoon and lost them, but that's why they call it fishing, not catching. After snack time, Bill hooked into a cow that took him into sundown that he ended up losing right at color. That's just part of the game though, and we have many more days of fishing time. Shake it off and tomorrow is a new day. The guys all hit the rack right after Chef Mike's amazing veal chop dinner to recharge the batteries because 0400 is going to be coming pretty early. Today started off on the slow side. For a few hours after daylight we saw virtually nothing. A little bit in the dark and even less in the day light. A couple of the boats found schools and were drifting so of course the stress level goes up. Thankfully we found a school after 9:00 and drifted with them till after lunch. They didn't bite full speed by any means but it was steady picking for most of the time. And oh yeah, they were the 50-70 pound grade. Yes baby, they're back! For today anyways. Who knows when they'll disappear again. Maybe tomorrow. Anyways after that drift, that was it for us for the day. We never found another deal. But I chalk this day up as a good one because that's just a beautiful grade of bluefin.

We're headed down now and we're going to try for some yellows in the morning and try our hands at some yellowfin in the afternoon. That's the tentative game plan for now anyways. Things change out here constantly. That's fishing. The weather today was top notch. I give it a 9.5 in the morning and an 8.7 in the afternoon. See you tomorrow.

To mama bear- Your little angel did great today. 2 record breaking bluefin for him. They were bigger then he was. He's currently sleeping in bed safe and sound.

Captain Ryan Bostian checked in this evening.  The audio was broken up but wait for it.  They had 61 Yellowtail and a good pick on Calicos.  The load is light tomorrow and very light this coming week.
