lower deschutes river Fishing Report 2025

Captain Mike Pritchard called in this morning at 6:45 AM. Today we 8 Bluefin Tuna on the boat and 1 Yellowfin Tuna (22 pounds). Most of the fish are in the 20 to 25 pound range. We do have 2 fish hanging. We have flat calm weather and a light load of 14 anglers.

We have lots of room on our trip for tomorrow. The weather looks like it is going to be nice again tomorrow. If you would like to join us please call (619) 224-3383 to get in on the action.

Polaris Supreme Trip Report 07-13-2016 Good evening readers! We departed on Archie Steele's annual five day fishing trip. We left the harbor with a beautiful load of mid size sardines. There are a couple anglers who are new to the Polaris Supreme and we are eager to show them the Supreme experience! We will be fishing for yellowtail early tomorrow morning. Back after a five-day trip, the 7th Annual Paul Chappell Charter aboard the Polaris Supreme arrived at Fisherman's Landing July 10. The 24 anglers were guided by skipper Drew Henderson.
"We got some nice yellowtail at San Martin," remarked Drew, "but there's a lot of that big squid around there. You can't get any more yellows once they get on you." Chartermaster Chappell won first place for his 34.6-pound albacore. He said he bagged it with a sardine on a 2/0 Mustad 94150 hook on 30-pound Yo-Zuri line. He fished with a Penn Squidder reel and a Sabre seven-foot rod of the same era. Phil Beltrami of Napa won second place for a 33.4-pounder, and Craig Pappas of Santa Cruz won third place for a 32.4-pound longfin.

36 passengers on todays adventure with a catch of  43 yellowtail and 53 bonito. We had a couple of short opportunities today.

Come fishing on November 30ths 7 day. We are all locked and loaded. Wahoo leaders are crimped, tied, and twisted. The tuna gear is on and ready to grab. Even the people who have giant Grouper on the mind have their heavy gear and big hooks tied on ready to flyline a Skipjack. We feel very ready and anxious to start fishing. Hopefully they cooperate . Another great start today. The Yellowtail are biting extreme well. It was a great couple hours of fishing to start the day. 

After we had enough inshore fishing we decided to head offshore to look for Bluefin. We were able to connect later in the day, with 5 Tuna up to 40 lbs. 

Tough conditions offshore, hoping the tuna will bite better soon.

Hello Everyone, Today we fished for trophy Yellowtail and Wahoo. The yellows were biting good but most were able to get int the rocks, or get eaten by waiting sharks. We did manage to land some trophy Yellowtail as well as a single large Grouper. There were less sharks later in the evening so we were able to land more Yellows at night. There was very little Wahoo sign as we were driving around, we did manage to troll up one. We stopped fishing around midnight and started traveling up. We will see if we have time to fish tomorrow or the following day, depending on the speed we are making. Will Report again tomorrow , Team Supreme

Wow what a crazy sky this evening here along the Baja coast! Yesterday we departed on our annual AHI 7 day charter. The AHI charter has been around for 23 years and going strong! Today the charter spent the day rigging up, relaxing, and unwinding to a great selection of music, complete with a special outfitted sound system here aboard Polaris Supreme for this charter. It is a truly enjoyable atmosphere here, and the weather could not be better to go with it. We are all rigged up and ready for our first day of wahoo fishing tomorrow morning. Wish us luck!
