Capt Ryan Bostain checked in from the San Diego out of Seaforth Sportfishing, we went out with 43 anglers today and ended the day with 120 Yellowtail. Today they were from 12 to 28 lbs, with an average around 15 lbs, today they bit mostly on the surface with either a flylined bait or surface iron. We did also manage to get some on the yoyo jig, the ocean is alive down there. Come on down and get you some, make sure you bring a rig for every occasion. See you on the boat.

Captain Mike Pritchard called in tonight with an update. We finished our trip with 26 Bluefin Tuna, 91 Yellowtail and 2 Dorado. There were some better scores on the Bluefin Tuna if you were in the right spot. So things are looking good out here. We have a trip leaving tomorrow night. 10 bluefin tuna 2 yellowfin tuna. We are seeing fish from 10 lbs to over 200 pounds. A 25 lb bait rod, a 40 lb bait rod and a 50,60 or 80 lb rod is recommended. If you do not own the proper tackle. Seaforth is renting 50 lb rods with a 2 speed reel. These rental rods have already conquered a lot of our fish.

Andrew Viola called in with a wrap up from the 1.5 day trip from the Pacifica out of Seaforth Landing in San Diego, CA.

We saw a good sign of fish yesterday. We picked up 48 Yellowtail and  4 Dorado to go with our 4 Bluefin Tuna.

The Pacifica is back out tomorrow night for a 1.5 day trip fishing offshore for Tuna and Yellowtail. Departs at 9PM.

Bring a yo-yo rod if you are coming out with us tomorrow. There has been some yellowtail sightings in La Jolla.

Hello Everyone,
Today we were able to check everyone off on the Wahoo list. Everyone on the boat has at least one Wahoo! We are pumped about that. There was a nice shot on 20-30 lb tuna in the dark this morning, but as the sun rose the Tuna Stopped biting. Aside from the Wahoo we landed one nice Grouper to add to the mix! It ate a baby Yellowfin! Crazy!

The day started up very well for us. It was good scratching up until just after lunch and fishing took a dump. We looked around the Island for a bit and after making a few stops for a few more fish we took off from there and are now heading west to the big Island. We have a great catch of jumbo yellowtails on board and we're hoping to get some jackpot settling trophy size yellowfin tomorrow. Portuguese style yellowtail for dinner tonight. We had it last trip for the first time and I must say it was by far the best yellowtail I have ever eaten in my life.
