Lake Monticello Fishing Report

back at Monticello, still overcast and cold. only managed to snag a couple of sunfish. used some crickets but the bites were super slow. glad I brought a thermos of coffee! sometimes it's more about being out there than the catch.

fished Monticello today in the chilly weather, not much luck though. just one tiny bluegill. threw everything at them but they weren’t having it haha. wind was pretty strong too, made it tough to keep my line straight. oh well, tomorrow’s another day!

I had a great day on the water! overcast skies and warm enough, caught 2 nice largemouths around 3-4lbs each. fished with a spinnerbait near the shoreline. they were hitting hard, felt like a workout reeling them in!

took a chance on the lake today, patchy rain but it wasn't too bad. only caught one small pickerel but I lost another big one right at the boat. ugh so frustrating! used a topwater lure, maybe they’ll be more active if the sun comes out

man today was wild. heavy rain showers came outta nowhere while I was fishing. only caught 1 bass but it was 5lbs! got soaked but hey, a catch like that makes it worth it. used a green jig, they were biting despite the rain!
