lake bonham Fishing Report 2025

The Bluefin started biting before sunrise and like a broken record, more than their share got away, we went 10 for about 25 on the 45-55 pound Bluefin, the hot ticket being the flatfall. After sunrise, the plump Yellowfin bit for several hours, being caught primarily on flylined 20 pound.

Went 1 for 2 on local Yellowtail. Fish are holding tight to the bottom, much like the one's we've been seeing regularly at the Coranado Islands. Our guess is that fish is moving north. This one ate a sardine on the dropper loop. We have Monday open for charter, then some days in July. Come on out and enjoy the fishing. 

Hooked 10, but they are mean and like to destroy your gear. Ended with 4 Bluefin all around #70 pounds for our 5 anglers. 

Good evening everyone, Today we spent the day searching for yellowtail, yellowfin tuna, and Wahoo. The conditions were poor but we still managed to scratch up some Wahoo. Not an incredible volume of fish but all still very appreciated. We are hoping for good current tomorrow so hopefully the fish decide to chew. We are going to fish the same area tomorrow. Jodie Morgan called in with this report from the Apollo. "We are starting off with limits of Seabass this morning & 1 beautiful Halibut. You should know that there is beautiful weather as well.

Tony “Big Delicious” LaDell with 4 of the 50 yellowfin we landed today. We also had 101 skipjack. Still plenty of fish around, all it takes is one stop.

Very rough seas made landing our 27 yellowtail quite the challenge. The JRI 66 was the hot lure.

10 yellowfin 1 bluefin 3 skipjack. We put our McDonough charter group on enough fish to sink the boat. Unfortunately the tuna didn’t want much to do with our hooks.
