Captain Ryan Bostian checked in late last night. We had very good fishing again today at the Coronado Islands. Today we had 21 anglers catch 85 Yellowtail and 51 Bonito. These Yellowtail are the coastal models and are much bigger than the Yellowtail being caught offshore right now. There are some fish that are in the 10 pound class. Then there are lots of fish coming in between 12 and 20 pounds. So they are nice quality fish. We are catching the fish on fly-lined sardines, yoyo jigs and surface iron. It really depends upon where we are fishing. Please be prepared with a 25 pound bait stick with live bait hooks (1 or 1o). Also bring a 40 pound outfit with Salas 6x Jrs. And a long rod if you what to fish the surface iron.

Capt Mike Pritchard called in from the Tribute with an awesome early morning fish report, it is 9 am and we already have 47 Bluefin Tuna from 40 to just over 100lbs, and a few Yellowfin Tuna. What a way to start the day, if you coming out to fish, make sure your tackle is in good working order, this will prevent some heartbreaks. We recommend that you have at least a 40 lb set up, also, a special thanks to SAC for assisting in getting the Bluefin Tuna issue resolved with Mexican authorities. Hope to see you out here soon.

~~Good afternoon folks. Checking in hear from the bridge as we're departing on Dan Ranta's 1st Annual 5 day Charter. Dan took over for our long time passenger and charter master extraordinaire Mr. Eric Rogger. All of us here on the Supreme will certainly miss having him out on the water and being one of our favorite charter masters for over 30 years! Thanks so much Mr. Rogger! Dan joined us out here for his first time on the boat last year with a few of his fishing buddies and wasted no time taking over as charter head and filled the boat with an awesome group of anglers. We still have some veteran passengers still out with us like Tania Warner and her dad John as well as a lot new faces that we look forward to taking out fishing.
 We have Captain Tommy back at the helm so Drew can go spend a much needed 5 days with Kristin and his baby girl Sydney. And I can certainly not go without mentioning the we finally have back with us our Captain Tommie "Gunny" Miles. He's been missed, but now he's doing great, his health back in order and he says thanks to all of you that have wished him the best while he was recovering on his short hiatus.
 So here we go, great group, excellent weather heading south and ready for the games to begin! Tight lines and wind at our back! Check back in tomorrow.

Our final day went perfectly as planned. We fished a few hours drifting for cod in flat calm weather. Good red and ling cod fishing. We then shot outside and found a couple kelps holding some nice grade yellowtail and a few dorado. We enjoyed a nice easy ride home and spent the rest of the day lounging, cleaning, some read, watched movies and some took naps. We get in tomorrow at 7:30, unload, load and the big guy takes her back out for 4 days. We're out. Stay classy San Diego

When we go offshore on these trips we are basically looking for 1 good school. 1 good bluefin school if it’s in the right mode will stick with the boat all day and provide plenty of action. With that being said, today we saw 4 nice schools but only managed to land 1 tuna.

"Coast Guard inspections so we are ready to go fishing!" wrote owner-skipper Tom Rothery June 1. Memorial Day weekend started off the season with the first albacore being caught (since January) and a couple of bluefin also. That has all of us on the boat excited as well as most of you. Water conditions look spectacular for the season and we hope to have some water charts on the web site soon for you to view. We are also pleased to pass on the fact that the Guadalupe permits have been granted for the next two years. I know a lot of you are looking forward to fishing there. We have our schedule on line for you to look at. Prices are the same as last year and as of right now there is no fuel surcharge. So let's hope the cost stays down. "We have two new 1 1/2 day trips that we added on and we still have some openings on some of the 4 and 5-day trips this summer. This is the launching of the Polaris Supreme after our Haul out. We hauled out at Shelter Island Boat Yard and all though it was my longest ever it was definitely the least pain less. Thank You Guys in the yard, And Girls in the office.

Today was another example of the fact that when targeting Bluefin, we are playing by their rules.  We stopped on fish all day and managed to land 15 fish from 30 to 70 lbs and one 45 lb Yellowfin. Staying at the rail and fishing either a 40 lb flyline rig, a 50 lb colt sniper or sinker rig was the best bet today.  Come out to enjoy the ocean, be prepared with your tackle.  Keep your fingers crossed that you are here when they let their guard down a bit is the name of the game.
