Great South Bay Fishing Report

partly cloudy but went out anyway! didn’t get skunked which is always a win. picked up some small bluefish on the poppers. they were fun to catch, even if they weren’t huge! also saw some cool wildlife, which is always a highlight of the trip.

finally a sunny day in the bay! i went out to hunt for some weakfish, used a light tackle setup. only had a few bites but managed to catch one keeper. it was so nice just to be out in the sun after all that rain, felt like spring finally arrived!

gotta say, was a fun trip. even with the rain around, the fishing was decent. brought in some more fluke, they seem to love the squid strips right now. it got a bit windy, but once the clouds cleared, it was nice out. reeling in feels so good!

so I decided to brave patchy rain today! the water was super choppy but i got lucky with a couple of nice bluefish. they were biting on lures that mimic baitfish. soaked through but had a blast reeling them in! can't wait to grill 'em up.

went out for a few hours today, it was partly cloudy and not too bad. caught a bunch of small snapper, nothing huge but fun times. using my trusty light rod with some 10lb test. released most but kept a couple for dinner. no one else around, just peaceful vibes.
