Polaris Supreme Trip Report 08-19-2016 Hello Everyone, Today we woke up having hopes of a repeat day of yesterday. We started off the day by hooking a nice yellowfin of the same size quality as yesterday, but the school did not stick. We had our work cut out for us chasing school after school, spot after spot with the same results. The tuna had lock jaw today and had very suspect behavior of line shy bluefin tuna. Needless to say it was tough, we scraped up another school sized tuna and had a nice flash of yellowtail right at sunset. A nice way to finish off a great trip with a small shooter of yellowtail right before we rode off into the sunset and pointed to boat to San Diego. We Would like to thank Dave Dolan for putting together a great "lets talk hook up" four day trip. We sure had a great time catching some yellows and some of the best quality tuna we will likely see on a four day trip. We will be in bright and early tomorrow. Thanks for stopping by, Team Supreme

Good evening everyone. We departed this afternoon on a private family charter with an excited load of kids and adults ready to put their fishing luck to the test. We made a stop at the bait receivers and loaded up on some healthy sardines to bring with us on our journey to the southern fishing grounds. The bait looks good and everybody is ready to put said bait to the test. For now, everyone is in the galley, getting ready to munch on some prime rib, a Polaris Supreme departing night tradition. Our fishing outlook looks good as there are some scores to be had on Bluefin, Yellowfin, Yellowtail, and some Dorado too. As for the weather outlook, it's looking like it will be a little bit windy for tomorrow, but Sunday is looking like it might calm down. We'll see for ourselves tomorrow.

For now, we'll just keep on chugging down to the grounds and with that, we'll chat with you tomorrow evening. Take care.

100 grand, 77 inches of rain and enough acetone in our blood to kill an elephant. We are finally done. This Saturday March 16 we start fishing. We will be fishing the Coronado Islands targeting yellowtail and falling back on ground fish if needed. Bring your passports and please make reservations at 619-224-3383. This past week we got a taste of just about everything the offshore grounds have to offer. Wednesday and Thursday were spent drifting over the top of some of the biggest schools of bluefin tuna I have ever seen in the local waters. While we had a lot of fish around and under the boat we did not catch all that many of them. I have been saying for years that I believe a bluefin tuna is one of the hardest fish to hook in the ocean and they proved it as we caught 11 on Wednesday and 7 on Thursday. Monday and Tuesday were relatively slow days for us as we returned to the dock with 20-30 mixed fish (yellowtail,dorado). On Friday and Saturday we took out 2 separate rent rod charter groups and experienced some very fun fishing for yellows and dorado. The highlight of the week was our Saturday trip as we caught 68 mixed fish (46 yellowtail 22 dorado). If you are planning to come out with us this week , all you need to bring is a few bait rods. 25 lb. has been the most popular size as it is a nice medium between light and heavy. In the event that we run into a school of bluefin a 15 or a 20 lb. rod is a nice outfit to have. A 30 lb. rod can be used on kelps where the dorado and yellowtail are biting good.

Polaris Supreme Trip Report 10-25-2019 We spent the day looking for yellowtail and only tied into a few. Truthfully most the day was spent dodging wind. Our ride was good but we had some serious offshore Santa Ana conditions. Will be spending all day tomorrow traveling up to San Diego it looks like it's going to be great weather. Will be into the dock on Sunday morning and be doing 17 days of boat work before we head back out again for eight days on November 14. Thanks for tuning in to see you then. The Polaris Supreme Crew!

After a couple of slow days for the fleet we decided to go out on a search mission. Our morning was spent chasing 30 lb bluefin that we’re very difficult to hook. Around 12:30 our sonar lit up with the sweet sound of shallow, spread out yellowfin tuna. After 3 1/2 hours and ten short stops. Our 30 anglers were able to drop 123 yellowfin and 1 bluefin into the refrigerated Sea Water. Best success came on flyline bait on 25-40 lb, colt snipers and poppers. We will continue to fish offshore and target whatever we see.

Here is a late report from Sunday. Captain Ryan checked in from the San Diego with a Yellowtail update. Today we caught 151 California Yellowtail, 19 Pacific Bonito and 3 Calico Bass. The amazing Island fishing continues.
