Good evening everyone. We departed earlier this evening for our second annual Optima charter with Garth and his best of buddies. We loaded up on some bait that doesn't look all that stellar but maybe after it settles down, they'll turn into some champions. Anyhow, we're on our way down to try our hand at some Bluefin tuna offshore and some Yellowtail on kelps. Apparently, the Yellowtail are growing a little bit, if you can locate the right kelp as one of our code boats did, and caught some 'tails in the 15-22 lb. range. Regardless, we'll be looking first thing tomorrow morning and we'll try to make a day of it. Our weather is beautiful and we're looking for more. Wish us luck.

 

A slow morning, a productive afternoon. We gave Benitos Island a thorough check for not much to show for. Same old looking at fish that won't bite. We made the run down to Cedros for the afternoon. We eventually found the jumbo size yellows and fished them till almost dark before it shut off. We're going to run up tonight to fish dorados and yellows and tuna in the morning. It's steak night tonight and they're calling. See ya.

We are re-opening the last spot on a upcoming 5.5 cedros-offshore trip. Targeting bluefin tuna, yellowfin tuna, yellowtail, and calico bass!! Only 18 passenger limited load! "It's 1 O'Clock here & I think we have 10 Yellowtail on the boat." Ryan went on, "we're seeing them pretty good here this morning. These are very big fish, we have lost another 10 for sure. We had one stop where we hooked 4 and lost them all. That's just the way it goes with this sized fish. They are bigger today, about 25 pounders. Biting mainly to fly line bait, we have caught a couple fish on the yo-yo and on surface lures. But they are maily biting the fly lined bait. I'll give you a final talley on the way in. As of 1:00 PM I know we have at least 10 Yellowtail on the boat maybe a couple more. And we're still seeing them hook a few. I'll get back to you later.

How's it going everyone, We have just wrapped up our second day of fishing. We started up the morning in prime yellowfin country. The morning began with short stops with fish being caught on the troll and live baits on the slide. After searching the area for a couple hours we were able to find what we wanted, a big school of Yellowfin tuna that were eager to come aboard the Polaris Supreme. From skip-jigs to dead bait these hungry yellowfin wanted it all. During the late morning fishing noticeably slowed, and we decided work our way out of that yellowfin zone and begin heading towards an area were we will be fishing for bigger grade Yellowtail. Filled with anticipation and a delicious chicken dinner, we all hit the sack early to be well rested for the day to come! Also on side note, we just had a spot open up on our next trip, the Beck 5 day. A great group of guys to fish with and a great time of year to fish! Tight lines, Team Supreme

We had great marlin fishing all morning long. Midday we went in search of wahoo but had no luck. While the weather was good this morning it turn rough this afternoon. Dinner tonight was a delicious salmon steak.

Polaris Supreme Trip Report 07-20-2016 Good afternoon everyone, Today we started out fishing off the central baja coast, in hopes of lots of large yellowtail and maybe even a Seabass or two. An early wake up call was in order to try for a premium sized yellowtail or Seabass. Unfortunately the fish had other plans. So we pulled the anchor and began searching for any sign of yellowtail. We were not able to find any breaking fish or breezers but the bait life around was astonishing. We worked bait ball after bait ball for nothing. After concluding that the conditions were not panning out we started working our way north. Spot after spot of scratch yellowtail fishing. However there were a few lucky anglers that landed some quality mossbacks. We worked at it till about high noon and then decided to head off shore in hopes of a boomer kelp patty or a biting school of tuna. Water is clean and our hopes are high, Team Supreme
