Polaris Supreme Trip Report 07-29-2016 Hello good morning anglers. We are already fishing this morning and have four yellowtail to our credit. We have a nice current and are waiting for things to start happening. We left yesterday afternoon with Tom Chaparro's annual five day charter with a limited load of 18 anglers. It is really quite the joy to be able to fish with such a light load on the boat. Most of Tom's guys have been out with us before and are anxious to get at it. We had a nice prime rib dinner last night and Tom and the boys gave our friend Herb Yamanaka a custom-made Oregon Duck's colored raped rod as a thank you for his many years of creating wonderful wood working's in the form of bowls cups salt shakers you name it he made it from different exotic woods and has given them out every trip. I haven't gotten a picture of the rod yet but as soon as Herb catches a fish will make sure you see pictures of both. Thanks for tuning in Tommy and the crew.

50+ yellowtail so far on our offshore trip. On the hunt for bluefin now. No passport all week

Hello everyone, Today we spent another day targeting quality Wahoo and school sized tuna. We did great, picking at the Wahoo the majority coming on live bait. The bombs and jigs seem somewhat dormant at the moment, but we're not complaining because fish are coming aboard! At times there is an incredible amount of life out here. From the Wahoo, Skipjack, Yellowfin, Triggerfish, and more. The volume of life makes it difficult to hook the targeted Wahoo and bigger Tuna. So there is quite a bit of weeding out of the small yellowfin and other species in order to get what we came here for. Aside from Tuna and Wahoo we had an unexpected jag of Dorado swim through today. We landed a handful of the larger models to add to the fall variety pack here aboard Polaris Supreme. We are heading up tonight in hopes of a Yellowtail topper tomorrow morning. Wish us luck! Howdy partners. Our morning whack yielded us 24 Bluefin, with most being in the 30-plus pound class, so that was just dandy. However, the traffic was too much for us to handle and with a declining bite, Drew made like the guy should have done for Lady Antebellum, and took us downtown. The move paid off, somewhat. We hit a few kelps for some action on some Yellowtails and a crazy Mahi-Mahi, but the weather made it tough to go any direction but downswell. 20 knots of breeze and a heavy, rolling swell just would not allow us to safely go where we would've liked to once we found the right water structure. Frustrating. Anyhow, we did manage to scratch up a couple of Bluefin late in the day but before we could get a beat on 'em, darkness fell and we had to turn downswell again so that everyones dinner plates stayed on their table. Oh well, maybe when the weather subsides, this area will be productive, but today, we can't quite justify saying that it was.

So that's it. We gave it our all today and the gang hung tough even with the lousy weather. After dinner, we're going to have to kick her up to get ourselves in position at the local tuna area tomorrow. We'll be finishing up our trip closer to home so we'll have all day to make the most of our final day. Take care and wish us luck.

Good evening everyone, Today we scouted some new area for yellowtail. With some good looking water on the satellite image we searched near and far. Spot after spot we tried long and hard, and just couldn't seem to find the condition we were looking for. Eventually we ended the day with a very low count. We still have our sights set on yellowtail for tomorrow. So we will be trying a new area tomorrow morning! Wish us luck, Team supreme

Hello everyone, Today we fished the coast for Yellowtail. It was slow but the grade of fish was excellent. We are still working up the line. Hopefully we can end the trip with a bang tomorrow. Will Report again tomorrow, Team Supreme

Hi friends. Back at it today and it was a pretty good day of boatwork. Well, as good as a day of boatwork could be. We shifted our cleaning and organizing efforts to the wheelhouse today. In all honesty, it looks beautiful. Everything is neatly placed in it's correct spot and it's easy to locate and get access too. But in all honesty, in about two months, it's probably going to look exactly how it did before we cleaned it up. But, that's how it is on a boat. Things get thrown around in the heat of an on-water emergency and roll around during rough seas. For now, it's looking good. Speaking of looking good, our friend Stanley Steamer payed the boat a visit today and our carpets got a nice cleaning as well. All in all, a fine day of boatwork and we're one day closer to our first trip on Saturday.

Projects for tomorrow include: some refrigeration maintenance, some A/C work, more cleaning and organizing and we'll take a ride to the fuel dock to change oil and fuel filters, take on more oil and fuel and take a little boat ride about San Diego Bay and see how things are running while we're underway. We'll chat with you tomorrow.

Captain Cameron Cribben checked in this evening with an update from the San Diego out of Seaforth Sportfishing in Mission Bay. Today we had 17 anglers catch 6 Yellowfin Tuna and 7 Bluefin Tuna (up to 192 pounds). The Yellowfin Tuna were in the 15 to 18 pound class. The Bluefin Tuna were 25 to 35 pounds and we had 2 over 100 including this beautiful 192 pounder. The opportunity to capture a fish of a life time continues.
