Aug. 22

A slow day on the Polaris Supreme today. My honey hole wasn't so much a honey hole. We had a couple stops the first half a day for some nice bluefin, yellows and dorado before taking off to what I hope tomorrow is the promise land. An example of how big the ocean is, one hour after leaving the area a code boat found a dandy school and gave me the position. Upon further investigation I noticed it was 1 mile from my earlier track line. It didn't bite for him. Now I always want my fellow boats to do well out here but you know deep down inside I was a little relieved to here that.

The weather out here is still fabulous and tomorrow is going to be a day full of bent rods, hooting and hollering and a boat full of tired people. I can feel it.

We started off with a good morning bite where Jeff Hoover pull in a 78 lb. bluefin. We also caught some smaller grade bluefin and a nice grade of yellowfin. However it was short lived. By 9am we were off scratching for small, medium and nice grade albacore for the rest of the day. For this trip we scratched away every day and caught enough fish for everyone to take home. Our eta for tomorrow will be 7:30 am and then Drew will take out the next one which is the 2nd annual Let's Talk Hook-up Charter. Weather has been excellent. Well it's time to go down for dinner. Tonight will be surf and turf, steak and lobster. Thanks for checking in.

We had a fun day fishing beautiful quality yellowtail. Most were 30 lbs. or larger. Our weather is gorgeous. We will be heading off to look for bluefin and albacore tomorrow. Thanks, Tommy

Hello everyone, Today was our last day of fishing for our annual A.H.I 8 day trip. We fished the beach hoping that some yellowtail would be waiting for us. Although our time was limited we managed to capture some nice grade fish until we had to head for San Diego. The trip was a great success and now we are in for a long ride home. Even though the fishing was over, smiles were all around and we could not have asked for more. Great fishing, good company and amazing weather, this trip turned out to be one for the books. Good evening, friends. One more day. Just one more day of boatwork and we will be setting sail on our first voyage of the 2012 season. Today was a successful day as the revamped air conditioning unit was finally completed and she's running quite smooth if I must say so myself. Other than loading some dry groceries and other supplies, we did some more cleaning and organizing and I can honestly say that tomorrow everything will be clean and stowed away. For now, we're all enjoying our last couple of days with our families and living the "land life" but at the same time, we're all anxiously awaiting a shot at some of those gorgeous Bluefin tuna, Yellowtail and anything else that we can locate.

So that's all that is going on with us. Just putting the finishing touches on our boatwork and transforming the boat into a fishing machine. Thanks for checking in.

Hi friends. We made it back up to the tuna grounds at first light and found absolutely beautiful weather and the "football" yellowfin tuna were hungry today. Steady jig strikes all morning all the way up until we found a kelp that accounted for most of our score on this day. It was a really fun kelp too. You could look in the water and see brown for most of the stop and these fish were on the squid real nice and the skip jig as well. Kub Ito even got in on some hand-line action which was pretty entertaining. Speaking of Kub, Kub had ten minutes of hardhat time for two minor offenses. Good job, Kubby bear. Anyhow, fun morning of fishing and flat calm, sunny weather to boot. A fine way to end a fine trip and Joe Beck and the boys are pumped.

Anyhow, we're traveling up the line in a very calm ocean and we're looking to arrive to the docks at 0600 where we will be getting the boat turned around and heading out on our annual Gary Roberts 9-day trip. We'll chat with you tomorrow evening sometime. Take care.

P.S. Absolutely no hardhat time for Mark this trip. Shocking, I know. Granted he was in the galley this trip but nonetheless, he was on the boat. Good job, Mark. You now have nine days to reclaim that beautiful yellow dome of yours. Stay tuned.

Another great day of fishing out here. We had 160 rockfish 7 lings and 137 whitefish for 16 guys on the Endeavor.
