fished on the dolores river today, overcast but warm! caught 5 smallmouths, all on a crankbait. they were really aggressive! had a couple of misses but that's part of the fun. always love coming out here, it never disappoints.
was out there again today, nice and sunny. got to the river before sunrise and it was peaceful, just me and the water. caught a couple decent brookies on a nymph. they were hungry! wind started picking up later but hey, that's fishing for ya.
what a beautiful day on the river! sunny skies and warm temps. hooked into a few nice rainbows using a dry fly - the action was non stop! even tried my hand at some catch and release. just an awesome day fishing with friends. can’t wait to go back!
yesterday was a bit wet but i had my rain gear on and went to the river anyway. caught 2 nice cutthroats but had to work for them. they liked the red and white spoon i was using. it was rainey and cold but totally worth it! when they bite, it makes it all good.
got on the river early this morning, 6am. it was cloudy but warming up! finally landed a beautiful 5lb brown trout on a spinner. made my day! it was a tough fight, almost lost it in the weeds. fished till noon and called it a day. great spot!
