Supreme Update

There has been excellent bluefin fishing at 120 to 150 miles the last few days! In response the POLARIS SUPREME is putting the follow two day trips on line to specifically target these fish in this area as well as the yellowtail on the kelp patties in that zone.

The fish are between 120-150 miles and departing at 1 pm in the afternoon will easily put the SUPREME on the fishing grounds by 5 am the following morning and allow her to fish until 8pm that evening. Hello Everyone, Today we had a great day of fishing. Lots of species. Yellowfin Tuna, Yellowtail, Dorado, Wahoo, Grouper, and even a few Pargo. It was a blast, action all day. The Yellowfin Tuna we caught were a great grade. 15-25 lbs. The Key to these larger grade fish was light line and a small hook. 25-30lb test and a size 2 hook. On this particular trip we have an abundance of Accurate Loaner Reels. The small Tern reels and Valiant reels really stood out when fishing these larger grade Yellowfin. Tomorrow we will be targeting a larger grade of Yellowtail. Wish us Luck, Team Supreme

22 pass. 9 bluefin tuna from 50-100 lbs. A 50 lb setup with a 1/0 circle hook and a 4-6 oz torpedo sinker above the hook was the hot ticket. We also hooked a few fish on 200 gram Shimano flatfalls.

 Today we looked at an awful lot of schools, non biting unfortunately. I heard Tommy throw out a number and I'll share it with you. 17. That's the number of schools we stopped on today. We caught 2 bluefin all day. A 65 pounder and an 80 pounder or so. So that's our day in a nutshell. I think most of you all have been there before. We're headed in. I'll be taking the boat out tomorrow for 9 days.
 

We had a very very good afternoon of yellowtail fishing today. The grade was 16-22 pounds with some going larger. We took off at dark and will be looking offshore tomorrow for wahoo and dorado.

Capt Mike Pritchard called in a trip announcement for tonight aboard the Tribute, we have a trip leaving tonight targeting Yellowtail, Rockfish and Lingcod. Polaris Supreme Trip Report 08-13-2016 We had another fun day today! Today was a little different though most of the fun was catching fish not traveling. We had very good yellowtail fishing all day, we started off right at the crack of dawn with flurry fishing which progressed into a wide-open bite for several hours and then flurry fishing again! After a midday low it all started up again through the rest of the day. We were catching fish mostly on bait. Fly lighting was number one with dropper loop fishing coming in a close second. We didn't have a lot of jig fish but that probably was contributed to the fact that we didn't have anyone fishing jigs most of the time. Weather is excellent and were hoping to do this again tomorrow. Thanks for tuning in the Polaris Supreme Team!
