Captain Ryan Bostian checked in at 12:56 PM with an update from the San Diego out of Seaforth Sportfishing in Mission Bay, CA. We have been fishing the Coronado Islands for the past few months. The water temps dropped significantly so we fished offshore today. Captain Cameron checked in at 11:15 with 35 Yellowtail. We are hoping the Bluefin make a showing. Good evening ladies and gentlemen and welcome back to the website of the Polaris Supreme. We're sorry we've been apart for so long but you guys didn't want to go fishing so we had to do other things. Here's a recap of what we did the last few weeks... Jed went to a Slayer concert in Vegas and won a bunch of money. Jed always seems to win lots of money when he gambles. I don't know why he just doesn't do that for a living. Either he's fibbing about the money he makes or he just really loves fishing. Gunny hung around and fished his local lakes a lot after flaking on Jed in Vegas. Shawn had some big plans on getting a new place and a new car while he was off but came back to the boat with neither so he probably had the most fun of us all. Or maybe it was Gringo because he spent his time where he does, Cabo. Tommy and Susan did what they always do which is work, work, work. Mostly in the office but they saved a little bit of time for pleasure mostly around the river. I spent my days either at the boat helping with various projects from minor fixes up to helping the mechanic replace a piston in one of the engines. I also did some work on my golf game which still stinks by the way. And Mark lost one pound while we were off! One pound! Way to go Mark.

But we're all glad to be back out and that's because it's the Lon Mikkelsen and John Esler 10 day trip! Things are always just a hoot out here on the Lon Mikkelsen and John Esler 10 day trip. Lots of return customers out here and a handful of fresh ones too. I love this group. I do. Anyways the boat is running in tip top shape and we're all fueled up and baited up and everyone is currently sleeping with there belly's full of prime rib as I write this on my watch. Fishing sure did sound poor out here the last few weeks but things sound like they're on the upswing as the Polaris Supreme rolls south. Not sure we'll do any fishing tomorrow as we need to keep her rolling down so the plan for now is to have breakfast in the morning and spend most of the day getting all our tackle in the best of shape. The weather just couldn't be better. Flat calm gorgeous without a cloud in the sky. Beautiful! Sweet dreams all.

Hello everyone, Today we wanted a Yellowtail topper, and a yellowtail topper we got! By no means wide open, but enough yellows to keep everyone busy for a half a day. The hot ticket was the famed blue and white 6x yo yo iron, tried and true for years and still holding strong today. All and all a nice day of yellowtail fishing to round out a great fall 7 day variety trip. It was really something catching Yellowfin Tuna, Wahoo, Dorado, and Yellowtail all in one trip! Unfortunately all good things must come to an end, so after our great Yellowtail topper we pointed the boat northbound to San Diego. We are very far from home so we have another day of travel ahead of us tomorrow Another successful trip logged away here aboard Polaris Supreme! Will report again tomorrow, The Supreme Team. Good evening from the Polaris Supreme bridge. Today was our first full day of travel. We still have this big swell following us down the line, but it's not doing us any harm.  We're rolling down swell with it, so it's not a real big deal.  I wouldn't mind it being a few degrees warmer, but it is the middle of February.  Everyone got to sleep in a little bit and have a nice breakfast at 0800.  The crew gave a wahoo seminar mid morning the get the guys tuned up on catching some "skinnies".  It's nothing new to the OTR guys,  but a little refresher course never hurts.  They got right into making their leaders, rigging wahoo bombs and so forth. Certainly helps break up a travel day.  Chef Mike and Gringo put out a real nice Chicken and artichoke penne pasta with pesto sauce and garlic bread for lunch. That dish always makes for a nice nap afterward.      

                The rest of the afternoon was just a bunch of catching up with old friends, eating more food as we always do on these trips and the crew doing a few chores before dinner.  Just another standard travel day here on the Polaris Supreme. Till tomorrow, this is the Supreme boys out.

Here we go again. We arrived early this morning and unloaded a deck full of bluefin and yellowtail, loaded up some sysco, put on a bunch of fuel, then loaded more groceries, put the new peeps on and took off on the glory run. The Gary Roberts 9 day baby. We got a good load of bait and we're headed down. It looks like we're going to pass by where we caught our bluefin last trip after daylight so we'll definitely be looking for those as we roll down. We'd never pass up that kind of fishing but we're not going to give it our all. If we don't see it and the other boats in the area aren't seeing it we're going to keep her rolling on down down down to destinations unknown. Or better yet not decided on. Either my next report will be about us catching bluefin or it will be about our traveling down.

Drew Henderson docked Polaris Supreme July 5 after a five-day trip with 23 anglers. His fishermen had plenty of albacore, but bluefin swept the jackpot spots. "What a great day of fishing," wrote Drew July 2. "Just couldn't be better. Everyone has had their fill of albacore so we are heading off to do some Island fishing for some of those big yellowtail. We should be there by daybreak tomorrow. Weather is fantastic."
At the dock, Drew said, "We got limits of albacore. Benitos has a lot of fish, but they're not biting very well, and the seals are. Yesterday afternoon we had a three-hour bite. The cedar plug is getting a lot of troll fish, ans so is my favorite, the ‚Дтscreamin' pink,' skirted jig." Ray Mercieca of Arcadia won first place for a 38-pound bluefin. He said he bagged it with a sardine on a 3/0 Mustad 91450 hook, 30-pound P-Line, a Penn 950 SS spinning reel and a Daiwa seven-foot spinning rod. Greg Culbert of Ojai was second, for a 36-pound bluefin and Bob Norman of Green Valley, AZ was third, for a 32-pound bluefin tuna.
