Polaris Supreme Update List 08-11-2012

Upon arriving to the dock this morning I was reminded of how long I have been sportfishing and more accurately running boats (36 and 34 years respectively). My good friend and charter head Eric Rogger was just arriving for his annual 5 day trip with his nephew Alex in tow. I marked this as Eric's 30th year chartering he immediately disagreed and said it was only 20. I was able to find a 1984 Polaris Deluxe schedule And prove he had been chartering on boats I have run for at least 28 years strait. That is the oldest schedule I could find If you have a older one I would love a copy. To put this in perspective Drew was 4 years old and Richie wouldn't be conceived for another 2 years and 3 months. I have no idea where I was going with this except to prove that Eric and I are old so I will get back to fishing.

Eric has again put together a great group of guys and Tanya. Yes thats 3 trips in a row we have had a women on board and not strait smelly guys. Except for Richie who just went down to the galley and tore out one of the perfume or calogne pages ( I can't tell which ) out of the latest issue of GQ magazine and rubbed it all over his chest. Every one is pretty excited and ready to get at it. We will be fishing at 05:30 am tomorrow.wish us luck.

Tommy and The polaris Supreme Crew.

***Editors note***

I decided since Tanya has been riding with us every year in the six years that I've been here and she's our third female in a row on the boat, that I would pull out all the stops. I decided to rub Allure Homme Sport EAU Extreme by Chanel -- since my allure is so extreme. It's a hypnotizing musk that reminds me of my days attending the Cape Cod Classic, where my Ralph Lauren crew neck sweater rested ever so gently around the neck of my wrinkleless polo shirt, my khakis where high and tight, and my Sperry Topsiders were as fresh out of the box as the morning dew that rested ever so gently on the jibb boom of fathers sailing yacht "Br-easy Money". Arnie Palmers anyone? Mmm-hmmm, yes please, bar patron, put this round on my fathers tab and have Phillipe set the reservations for 7:30 at the Osprey Country Club . Ahhh, you're right, Thomas Rothery, where has the time gone? With that said, let's go kill some fish and get real stinky.

Polaris Supreme Trip Report 09-25-2019 We got off on a nice early start on Joe Becks annual eight day trip. We have 24 happy smiling anglers excited to get at it and throw some fish on board. The bait we picked up at the receivers to complement what we already have on board looks good (although small) . Our weather is great the wind we have is out of the south which is not normal but it's good going. Have you ever heard of the term it popped up overnight? It happens in the desert around Thanksgiving for the four wheeling off-road enthusiasts. You see it happen in the desert with the snowbirds in the fall time were huge motor home and trailer communities pop up. It happens at Coachella and Burning man. And yes it happens on the Polaris supreme too. Last night there was no sign of them. But this morning there's a full blown rod forest on the back deck! The boys are enthusiastic to say the least. Hey guys, the yellowtail counts at the Coronado Islands have dropped a bit the past couple of days. There are a couple reasons for the slower fishing. First reason is the south wind we have had for the last two days. This south wind has dropped the water temp a few degrees therefore making the yellows a little less active. The second reason is the seal ions have stepped up there game. In the last three days we have lost at least 40 yellowtail to the lions. Good news is , the south wind is predicted to end by the end of today. Starting Tuesday we should start to see the water begin warming again. With the warming water the yellowtail should get more active making them easier to hook. With the seal ions acting as a tax collector it just comes down to the fact that we need to hook more fish. When we are hooking more fish both the seal ions and us can get our share. The best way to hook these yellowtail has still been a flylined sardine on 25 lb. test. The Coronado Island yellowtail have not gone anywhere , they are still there. We just need the water to warm a tiny bit so we can start catching them again. Look for better counts in the next few days. Today's photo is of a father and son with 3 yellowtail caught on Saturday. Quality family time in the outdoors is what it is all about ! Grab your son, daughter , grandson , granddaughter , nephew or niece and enjoy some time on the ocean with us.

Today we fished the Coronado Islands along with a couple of 1 day boats and the usual 3/4 day fleet. Conditions in the morning were backwards and needless to say the fishing was slow. Thru ought the day the conditions improved and when it was all said and done we had 10 yellowtail on the deck. We fish the Coronado Islands everyday. Come join us !

Captain Ryan Bostian checked in this evening with an update from the San Diego out of Seaforth Sportfishing in Mission Bay, CA. Today we had 23 passengers catch 27 California Yellowtail, 55 Barracuda and 1 bonito. Very good mixed bag fishing. This is a good opportunity to fish on an uncrowded boat and also enjoy good fishing.

Hi friends. Long time - no talk. We've decided to update everybody on our annual maintenance season to begin our 2012 season. We hauled the boat out at Knight and Carver Yacht Center and immediately dove into our projects that should take us the next three weeks to complete. Painting the outside/inside of the boat, refinishing the rails, and repainting the deck are just a few of the cosmetic projects on our list along with numerous mechanical projects to ensure that the Polaris Supreme not only looks good but operates at tip-top performance. This time of the year is always bittersweet. It's nice to maintain the boat and get her looking good for the up-coming season but it's also terrible to see a boat like this. The boat is unrecognizable, she sits on blocks, dirt and paint dust everywhere, grease, mud, and tools lying everywhere and it's hard to believe that she'll look like a brand new boat in a few weeks. But somehow, it happens and we hope that everyone will appreciate the hours we put into keeping the vessel looking good and running smoothly for you.

Anyhow, we'll report back to you daily and every few days or so, we'll send some photos along so that you can see what Tommy, Drew, Jed, Mark, Tommie (new guy) and myself are up to on the boat. Hopefully, I'll be able to type after twelve hours of sanding and grinding. Take care everyone.

-Richie and Team Supreme
