went out on May 27th, and oh boy, thunder in the distance but the fishing was great. caught a few smallies, about 2-3 lbs each. used a popper which they seemed to love! had to dodge a bit of wind but overall a solid adventure.
May 22 was cloudy and chillier than expected, but the fishing was decent! I hooked a fat 17 inch brown, beautiful colors. used a streamer since the water was murky. lotta fun watching the herons too. always something exciting out there!
May 20th got pretty wet, i mean heavy rain all day! still fished though, and pulled in 3 small rainbows. gear was soaked, but I had my waterproof jacket, so I’m thankful for that. fish were hiding in the deeper spots. gotta love the challenge!
the weather on May 15 was kinda eh with some light rain but i still caught a couple browns. nothing too big but they were fun! used a nymph setup, gotta love that. even sat in the drizzle just to feel the river's energy. it was worth it.
May 9th was a perfect day! sunny skies and the fish were on fire. I got 5 nice rainbows, biggest was about 4 lbs. used a dry fly, can’t remember the name lol but it was yellow. the river was lovely, can’t beat a sunny day in the bighorn.
