went out to the Kern River this mornin, it was kinda chilly but that part sun peeking out felt nice. got up around 5:30, hit the water by 6. brought my spinner rod and some nightcrawlers. first hour was quiet, felt like nothin was bitting but then I got lucky - caught a nice 2lb rainbow! used a bobber setup, seemed to do the trick! water was clear, but the current was stronger than I thought. ended up catchin two more about the same size. release them all, but man what a fun day! perfect weather for 4th of July, can't beat it. thinking bout going back tomorrow, maybe try some lures next time! tight lines!
