So we hit up the river near bakersfield this morning around 6am. it was super overcast and a bit chilly but the fish were active! used my trusty ugly stik and some crankbaits, caught like 4 nice trout, 1 was a solid 5lbs! the bite was pretty consistent for a while, especially near the fallen trees. had a couple good fights, gotta love that adrenaline! around noon the wind picked up a little but we still managed to snag a few more before heading out. great day overall, can’t wait to hit it again!
