Captain Ryan Bostian called in with an update from "The San Diego" out of Seaforth Landing. We have been fishing offshore for Bluefin lately but it is just not biting enough for us. So we are throwing in the towel! We will be fishing at the Coronado Islands tomorrow. Please be sure to bring your PASSPORT with you. 14 yellowfin tuna and 5 bluefin tuna. Once again, unbelievable amount of tuna in our zone. Most of the fish are strung out on tiny chovies making them very difficult to hook. A dedicated flyliner with 25 lb has a chance at a yellowfin. A dedicated flatfall or sinker rig fisherman with 50 lb has a chance at a bluefin.

Polaris Supreme arrived August 2 under skipper Drew Henderson's hand. Drew docked at Fisherman's Landing and offloaded his fish and 21 anglers, following a five-day trip. "We fished offshore and at Cedros Island," he said, "and the water at Cedros was clean green and back up to 69 degrees. The yellowtail are huge at the island, and a lot of these guys had their best ever. Albacore fishing is still tough, but the water's gorgeous." Scott Oberg of El Centro won first place for a 44-pound yellowtail he bagged with sardine on a 2/0 ringed Mutu hook on 40-pound Seaguar fluorocarbon, 40-pound P-Line, a Trinidad 20 reel and a Calstar 760 rod. Russell Ortez of Garden Grove won second place for a 43-pounder, and Don Carson of San Diego won third for a 32-pound yellowtail.

Hello Everyone, Today we had our sights set on Yellowtail. We started the morning picking at great grade Yellowtail. Shortly after lunch it really turned on. We finished the day with a excellent Yellowtail catch. The Yellows were all great size, 18-25lbs. It was a great way to fill the remaining slots people had in their limits. All the fish were caught on YoYo jigs and dropper loops. We could not have asked for better December Yellowtail fishing to finish up our trip. We may have time to fish tomorrow for some Rockfish or Calico Bass. Hopefully we make good speed. Will report again tomorrow, Team Supreme

We don’t ever take for granted just how lucky we are to have perfect weather and phenomenal fishing in the end of October. 177 yellowfin tuna.

10 bluefin tuna 2 yellowfin tuna. We are seeing fish from 10 lbs to over 200 pounds. A 25 lb bait rod, a 40 lb bait rod and a 50,60 or 80 lb rod is recommended. If you do not own the proper tackle. Seaforth is renting 50 lb rods with a 2 speed reel. These rental rods have already conquered a lot of our fish.

Hopefully this wahoo from the last trip is a good sign of what is to come on our next trip depending tomorrow. A seven day wahoo specific adventure!

7 yellowtail 109 calico bass 63 barracuda. Plenty of bites but with the lack of yellowtail we have decided to head offshore starting tomorrow. We recommend having a 20-30lb rod for kelps and smaller grade tuna and another rod with 40-60lb preferably with a 2 speed reel for fish over 50lbs. Flourocarbon is always recommended when we are offshore. Be prepared to fish flylined baits, sinker rigs and flat falls.
