 Good afternoon, on our final afternoon of the 7th Annual Blue-White Industries Charter.  I'm looking out the window of the wheel house while I write you guys at just amazing weather and waiting for another beautiful sunset. This was by far the best trip yet that Robin has put together.  The fishing ended with a day that was second to none. Just about picture perfect weather, fishing that boiled down to if you wanted a limit of Yellowfin tuna, you could have had it. Most of the guys were catching and releasing long before lunch time. You couldn't ask for it to be any better!  I've personally been on every trip that Robin has put together, and we saw total improvement since the first year. The guys work great together at the rail, followed their fish, and even handled almost all og their own tackle rigging needs. I was impressed at how far they've come. Way to go guys!
 Robin asked me to share some notes from himself personally so I shall. "This 5 day Charter was perhaps our most interesting trip yet. Non-stop yellowfin tuna fishing in 100% American waters. Daily jackpot fish were all over 30 lbs. The Polaris Supreme is by far the finest run long-range sportfishing boat in the San Diego fleet. 5 staruisine, top tier crew Captain TommyRothery, 2nd Captains Tommie "Gunny" Miles and Jed Scott, deckhands Mark Clark and Mikey Mays, and galley crew Chef David Schooler and last but not least Gringo". 
 So for the final night cuisine Chef is preparing a roasted rosemary organic chicken with white wine gravy, mashed potatoes and French cut green beans with mushrooms followed by nice big hot-fudge sundae to end it. We certainly do not go hungry around here. We certainly can't forget the wine of the evening, 2011 Argyle "Nut house" Pinot Noir.
  So in closing, we missed all who couldn't make back on this final Blue-White Charter, although there are some rumors of some future outings with some of the guys, but we shall see. But On behalf of myself and the rest of the Polaris Supreme crew, with thank Charter Master extrodanaire Mr. Robin Gledhill and his sons Rob and Taylor for 7 amazing year on the boat!

2 days of searching was rewarded with a bottom of the 9th rally on good grade yellowtail. Flylined sardines on 25 lb is the most productive right now.

Polaris Supreme Trip Report 12-03-2018 So that nasty old wind is gone! It's only about 2 to 5 kn between Guadalupe and Ensenada right now. I hear you guys have another storm coming in to California on Tuesday! Hopefully that won't bring the wind and swell for our ride home on Thursday night through Saturday morning! Oh yeah fishing! Fishing was good today, it started off at sun up and continued into the dark. It was kind of a steady pick all day except for a little lullishness during mid day. Our big fish today was around 110 pounds. Most of the other ones were in the 70 to 90 pound range. The hot stick still continues to be 50 or 60 pound Spectra/Mono/some guys are using floral carbon with a 3/0 hooked. The sharks continue to be absent and we don't miss them one bit. We will be here again tomorrow hoping for another big day! The Polaris Supreme Crew!

Captain Ryan Bostian called in to relay a report from Captain Cameron. We have 19 anglers today aboard the San Diego and as of about 10 am we have 20 Yellowtail. Tomorrow and Monday are looking good. We are taking Tuesday off as it appears that it will be blowing pretty good.

The Ranta Charter started off fishing yellowfin tuna with a decent little score on school sized fish ranging from 10-20 pounds. Most of the fish were caught on the flylined sardine with 30 pound test and a 2/0 hook. We also had as handful of troll fish that came off of green and black zuker feathers. The next day we sought after some quality yellowtail between 20 and 30 pounds. Sadly, these fish didn't show like we hoped they would have. We saw a couple small schools of fish that came up and boiled in the chum, but nothing would stick with the boat. Fish were being caught on flylined sardine, yo-yo jigs, and everyone's favorite technique, the surface iron. We managed to pick away at some of these fish in the morning before calling it quits and moving on in search of a better bite. After hearing reports of the yellowfin bite picking up, We decided to make a run to the grounds to get in on the action. We arrived mid-morning with high expectations, as a couple other boats in the area had some big scores off big schools of yellowfin. It didn't take long for our dreams to turn to reality as a four way trolling hookup turned into a wide open bite. They were biting anything that was thrown in the water for a solid hour until most of the passengers had their fill pulling on these tuna, that averaged 15 pounds. We had a couple more stops for not as much success before pointing the boat towards something new. The last day of fishing was spent offshore looking for kelps, but dirty water and 20 mph winds made it hard kelp finding conditions/ However, we managed to pick up a few nice Dorado as well as a couple more yellowfin to add to our total. This was a great trip with some awesome people, a couple a which had their first experience out here fishing saltwater. Another day of albacore fishing was productive again today. We had a little over a hundred today but seemed we should of had a lot more. A lot of non biting schools. Where have we seen that before all year? Oh yeah, right there. We're now heading to the south to fish offshore kelps for yellows and dorado. Weather is good. A big ground swell but not much wind on it. Lunch was awesome, some sort of salmon dish and dinner I couldn't even name so I won't try but it was fantastic. By the way, the albacore are all fatties. 30-40 pounders.

Good Morning Everyone. We had a great mixed bag fishing today. We caught some great grade Yellowtail, Yellowfin Tuna, and trophy Grouper. We managed to land one Wahoo as well. Lot of fish around today, just a lack of current to activate them. Hopefully we have some current tomorrow. Will Report then, Team Supreme

Hi friends. Starting off the day, we were expecting rain if not when we woke up but for sure around the mid-morning time. Captain Drew told me to expect work at 0700 hours this morning and that he would call me if he was going to call off the day. At about 0615 hours, my phone rang and when I saw that my phone read "Incoming call: Drew Henderson", I nearly trampled my girlfriend to reach for the phone and hear those beautiful words of "don't come to work today". Well, Drew being the awesome boss that he is just wanted to remind me that work was still on. Disappointed is an understatement. He specifically said that he would only call to let me know that we were NOT to come into work. I reluctantly suited up for work, still a little peeved that my vision of sleeping in and an all-day couch marathon was switched back to 7-11 coffee, 5-hour energies, and arthritic hands by days end.

Now some of you might be asking "Richie. Why so grumpy about going to work?" Well, after Tuesday's primer coat application, the primer creates what is called "orange peel".The entire hull looks like a giant, white orange peel and to rid ourselves of this orange peel, what must one do to smooth it out and get prepped for the final gloss coat? If you guessed "more sanding" then yes, you are correct. From 0700 until 1630 hours on Wednesday, we had to re-sand the entire boat with 220-grit sand paper to smooth everything out. Oh, how could I forget? We did all of this under beautiful, sunny skies. That weatherman is not our friend at the moment. He was wrong about the Wednesday morning/afternoon rain but he was correct about the rainfall on Wednesday evening in San Diego.

So here it is, Thursday morning and work was called off not only because of the rain but also to relieve sore, aching muscles as the constant use of both vibrating and orbital sanders took it's toll on Drew, Jed, Mark, Tommie, Jamie and myself from yesterday and we were given the day off. Thanks, Drew.

In all seriousness, there is a silver lining to all of my complaining of long days and sore bodies. All of the hard work that we put into the boat doesn't go un-noticed when we take a look at the boat right before the first trip of the season. The boat will look stunning and it will be a pleasure to keep her maintained throughout the years. When we have to put on our sunglasses to even stare at the hull and when you see your reflection perfectly in the boat, it's sweet justice to put so much time and effort into a project and to have it come out looking so beautiful. We can't wait to see how everyone will react when they first lay eyes on the new and improved Polaris Supreme.

Anyhow, I had some time to type out a nice, long report on our day off today. Weather permitting, we'll be back at it tomorrow to finish some touch-up sanding as we get ready for the final application of the gloss coat which probably will be scheduled for either Friday or Monday. We'll chat with you tomorrow and let you know how our day went.

There really hasn't been anything picture-worthy in the past couple of days and the pictures I would've shot, you've seen before: all of us with sanders in our hands, gloves on, respirator masks, safety glasses and looking like giant powdered donuts.
