Hi friends. Not too much to report today. Our weather was sloppy last night, sloppy this morning, and sloppy this afternoon. In all honesty, we were due for a good butt whooping' with the awesome weather we've enjoyed since July 2nd but the Stephens group did not deserve any of it. But, that's how it goes sometimes. Everyone is doing just fine considering and as we motored to the inside a ways, our ride is a lot better.

Anyhow, with the weather came a very slow day for us. The conditions made it difficult to locate any schools of Bluefin, whether on the machines or a visual sign, and with us being the only boat in the zone, we didn't quite connect. We gave it our all but considering the weather and latitude we remained at, we had to call it a trip right after Chef Shawn's killer Yellowtail taco lunch.

With that, we broke down our gear, TSP'd rails, and cleaned the boat from bow to stern and as of now (17:15 hours), the passengers and crew are catching up on sleep, reading, hanging in the galley, or getting cleaned up for dinner. I am the chosen one to serve dinner and deal with the elements this evening so we'll see how the turnout is for our seating. Hopefully, LB can keep it together.

So that is all. We'll be arriving to San Diego tomorrow around 08:00 hours and we'll chat with you on Monday as we depart for Paul Hess's annual 5-day adventure. Chat with you then.

Great early start at Guadalupe Island. Got the Tuna located and off to a great start! 

Polaris Supreme Trip Update 07-28-2016 We finished up our trip today with some scratch yellowtail fishing all morning and then an afternoon of rock cod fishing, all in all a very successful day and trip. Thank you very much Mark Costello and fellow anglers for making it so. Were heading up in some beautiful weather and looking forward to our next group with Tom Chaparro and his limited load of only 18 anglers.We still have openings on our four-day trip after Tom's five day if you would like to come out fishing with us! We are hearing signs of yellowfin tuna that actually wants to bite. We are excited to give it a try here on Tom's trip. And no Mark Castillo group it's not the local stuff! Captain Ryan Bostian called in with a Coronado Island Report from the San Diego out of Seaforth Landing. Today we had 24 anglers catching 92 Yellowtail (up to 30 pounds). Yesterday we only had 14. But they rebounded good today they were biting really good. We are a go tomorrow! The fish were mainly in the 15 pound class. They are biting very well on the surface iron but we did catch fish on live bait too. Call Seaforth at (619) 224-3383 to get in on the action.

Today went as planned. We fished yellowtail for a few hours in the afternoon to break up the travel time getting down below. We had to hunt a little but everybody on board got their share of tugging and pulling. We're traveling tonight toward the ridge. We should arrive in the afternoon if we don't stop prior to.

Captain Ray Montera took out 39 anglers today. Final fish count for the day was 6 lingcod 4 sheephead 80 red rockcod and full Mexican limits of rockfish. If you enjoy bottom fishing this is definitely the time for you. As soon as the yellowtail show up the rock fishing will take a back seat.

The San Diego out of Seaforth Landing in San Diego,CA checked in with us today:

14 yellowtail 150 assorted bottom critters. Couple shots at yellowtail in not so ideal conditions.

Captain Ryan Bostian called in this afternoon at 3:30 PM with an audio update from the San Diego out of Seaforth Sportfishing in Mission Bay. Today we fished at the Coronado Islands and had very good action. Our 28 anglers caught 140 Yellowtail, 50 Big Barracuda and 20 to 30 Bonito. They were biting really well on the fly-lined sardines and surface iron.
