Hello everyone,
Yesterday we departed on our Billy Stephens 7 day trip. This trip grew from a five day to a seven day. We are excited to be able to take this charter to a new neck of the woods and try for some new species that would not normally be possible on a five day.
Today was mainly a travel day and was spent assembling our Wahoo rigs and leaders. An all day task that will hopefully pay off with some alligator sized Wahoo tomorrow.
We will be fishing tomorrow, wish us luck.

We had a great day fishing open water on the yellowtail up to 25 lbs, and dorado up to 20 lbs. Our weather is excellent. It couldn't be any better. Today was just a fantastic day.

Capt Ryan checked in from the San Diego to report that they finished yesterday's trip with 111 Yellowtail. We got a lot on the yoyo iron as well as the surface iron and flylined baits. Make sure you bring all your Yellowtail gear to be prepared, a 40 lb rig, a 25 lb bait rod and a surface iron rod. The Pacific Voyager just got back into port from a 2 day with a few yellowfin tuna,one bluefin, and albacore. This is shaping up to be an interesting year with the first yellowfin being caught on this short trip. Call Seaforth to make reservations (619) 224-3383

28 Yellowtail, 2 Yellowfin Tuna, 47 Skipjack Tuna, and 3 Dorado. Picked and scratched a few mixed fish but never found the big school we were looking for.

44 pass. 101 yellowfin Tuna 2 bluefin tuna. Being prepared with different line sizes and hook sizes is very important when targeting the highly pressured local yellowfin tuna. These fish have many different modes and aggression levels. Listen to the crew and be willing to adapt and learn. No Passports required. We are sold out thru Sunday at this point. Today the San Diego had 47 anglers catch 121 Yellowtail. We had good times today on the San Diego!

6 yellowfin tuna 4 bluefin tuna. Tough conditions on the grounds today. Lots of wind and current made it very difficult to land the 30-70 lb tuna we had under the boat. Weather is forecast to be nicer tomorrow. Come out and enjoy the calm before the storm.
