The time has come for us to head BACK TO THE ISLANDS ! There is still some amazing tuna fishing to be had but right now your best bet is to hop on an Overnight a 1.5 or longer trip due to the location of the fish. Today’s offshore trip produced 50 skipjack and 20 small yellowtail. Very good sign of small yellows on kelps that should provide plenty of entertainment if given some time to grow. The 2019 offshore season has been another one for the books. We are scheduled to fish the Islands everyday in November. Call 619-224-3383 for reservations.

Where'd they go?? We got a few wahoo today, but nothing like yesterday. Our day consisted of scratching away at yellowfin, yellowtail, pargo, dorado, and wahoo on some different spots. Don't get me wrong. It was not a bad day fishing, just not like yesterday. Our weather is still good. Actually it's too hot, the water is 83 degrees. Not bad for the fish, but warm for us. Tomorrow we will be off shore kelping for wahoo, dorado and tuna until it's time to head home and wind up this fantastic trip. It's going to be a great fall season. Thanks for checking in. 9 Bluefin, 6 Yellowtail, 1 Yellowfin and 1 Yellowtail for our 14 Angler’s today. Not too shabby, we go again tonight with a light load.

58 yellowfin 18 bluefin 2 skipjack. “Plunker” style long drifts require a perfect presentation to get a bite. Changing your bait often is key.

Mahi Mahi starting to bite ! Finally these dorados we have been looking at for over a week are starting to bite. Today we went out with 24 anglers and caught 28 dorado and 4 yellowtail. We will be fishing offshore everyday ! Bluefin tuna , yellowtail and dorado are all on the menu. Bring your fly line bait rods and come see us.

Captain Jodie Morgan called in with a wrap up from their recent 2 day trip last night. We had 75 Bluefin Tuna (in the 30 to 40 pound class), 63 Yellowtail, and a Dorado. We have a 2.5 day trip departing Sunday night with open spots. The trip is $625 and includes your meals and permits. Call Fisherman's Landing at (619) 221-8500 to get in on the action.

Hi friends. I just want to start off by saying that Travis Donahue our new best friend. That guy gets on the boat and the Bluefin just are drawn to this guy. He's been on the boat three times this year already and every time he's out, the Bluefin bite. It's truly amazing. This trip was no exception as he tagged along with Garth and the boys from Optima and we had ourselves a good day on 15-30 lb. Bluefin. The other boats in the area struggled but we filled the box a few times on a couple of stops and we also managed to catch three thirty pound Yellowfin off of a kelp along with some Yellowtail. Like I said, it wasn't for everyone out here but thankfully, we had Travis on the boat and everything was just fine for us on the Supreme. We also had awesome weather to round out a fun day of fishing and we're currently en route back to San Diego. We'll be back to the docks tomorrow morning around 0900 hours. Often times the very FIRST piece of the puzzle is the most difficult to locate. Today we stopped on multiple small schools of yellowtail that were surprisingly hard to hook. Full size yo-yo jigs on 40 lb mono produced the first 2 yellowtail of our season. We also spent a couple hours fishing the bottom to assure everyone had plenty of white meat. We’re hoping this is just the tip of the iceberg. Make those resos !
