Reed checked in from the Fred Hall Show down in San Diego and just heard from Capt Ryan Bostain aboard the San Diego 3/4 day boat. The have limits of Yellowtail for their 20 anglers from 16 to 22 lbs, they were biting everything today. Captain Ryan Bostian checked in this evening with an update from “The San Diego” out of Seaforth Sportfishing in Mission Bay. Today we fished offshore continuing our streak of offshore trips. We had 39 passengers and we caught 195 California Yellowtail (limits) and 1 Pacific Bonito. It was very good Yellowtail fishing. We did see a few tuna in the area but we never hooked one today.
Be sure to bring a 25 pound bait rod (for Yellowtail). A 50 pound bait rod (for Bluefin Tuna) and a 50 pound rod for your flat fall or colt sniper!

Tony “Big Delicious” LaDell with 4 of the 50 yellowfin we landed today. We also had 101 skipjack. Still plenty of fish around, all it takes is one stop.

Polaris Supreme Report 07-26-2016 Hello everyone Today we really put the nose to the grind stone and had to work at these yellowtail. There are big fish around but they are proving to be very difficult to catch. Today we had 3 obstacles: slack current in the morning, hundreds of veracious baby yellowtail, and the famed sea lion. These mammals proved to be the toughest bout we encountered when it came to landing big fish. Many of the better quality yellowtail were lost to the sea lions including an absolute standout monster that would have went over 40 pounds. We were able to boat the fish, but not after the taxman left his mark on the portion of the belly. That aside we made out with a nice catch for the day, everyone was able to put tags on plenty of fish. It was a truly action filled day, full of hundreds of releases and hard fought battles with the sea lions with hard won success in the end. Especially our dark bite that went off right at dinner. That was all beautiful quality fish and no sea lions they were already on land sleeping. Hopefully tomorrow will be at least as good with a little less action on the sea lions . Another great day of fishing out here. We had 160 rockfish 7 lings and 137 whitefish for 16 guys on the Endeavor.

We finally got settled in here late. The fishing was good, with a lot of action and a lot of variety. Tuna was the main game in town, they started small but eventually cleaned up into a nice 18-35 lb average. Mixed in with the Tuna were some Yellowtail, Grouper, and a Wahoo. A nice mixed bag to start off with.
