A nice grade of Bluefin still ready to bite with some being taken on poppers as well.

This trip had a little of everything. (1) stressed out captain because he thought we might get skunked. (2) line shy, finicky tuna that would only bite light line. (3) Wide Open, heavy line eating, 45 going, madness. (4) a really cool shark that hung with us while we caught 198 yellowfin tuna.

After a couple of slow days for the fleet we decided to go out on a search mission. Our morning was spent chasing 30 lb bluefin that we’re very difficult to hook. Around 12:30 our sonar lit up with the sweet sound of shallow, spread out yellowfin tuna. After 3 1/2 hours and ten short stops. Our 30 anglers were able to drop 123 yellowfin and 1 bluefin into the refrigerated Sea Water. Best success came on flyline bait on 25-40 lb, colt snipers and poppers. We will continue to fish offshore and target whatever we see.

Polaris Supreme Trip Report 09-05-2016 Hello Supreme Fans. Our day started off Early in the gray light, but with much bigger fish around the boat. Some of the bluefin tuna we saw blowing out were well over 150 pounds! We had our fair share of hook ups and heart breaks throughout the day most of the time we had 3 to 4 fish going. Rob Gledhill had one on close to 3 hours only for it to gain it's freedom right next to the boat! Gary Jones was one of the lucky ones. After a long hard battle he lands one that taped out at 91 pounds! We have really gotten worked over the last two days on this big fish. It is really hard to hook them on anything heavier than 50 pound test, you fight them for long battles and then after a half an hour to two hours you lose it and have to start all over again. We are definitely getting our butts kicked. It's really some fun fishing, the catching could be a little bit better. Wish us luck as we plan to do battle again tomorrow with the mighty mean bluefin tuna. The Supreme Team!

It's been windy off southern Baja for a week or so, and it also blew a couple of days out at the Hurricane Bank. When Polaris Supreme skipper Drew Henderson looked out his wheelhouse window one day, he said it looked like Christmas, he could see so much white out there. At Fisherman's Landing December 4, Henderson weighed the catch for his ten-day anglers. There were tuna, wahoo, and dorado in good numbers. Bert Carlson of Long beach won first place for an 84.9-pound yellowfin, after the fish made a mistake with his sardine on a 5/0 Owner Offshore hook. He said he used 50-pound fluorocarbon leader and 65-pound hollow Jerry Brown Spectra on a Penn 20 T reel and a six and a half-foot Kencor rod. Chris Mohs of Ventura was second, for an 80-pound tuna, and Todd Cameron of Long Beach took third place for a 78.8-pound tuna. He also caught a tuna with an archival tag in it, which will bring him a $500 fee for the tag's return.

The Polaris Supreme is out on a 1 1/2 day trip. ( 9/27) I spoke with Drew at 2:30 and he had just had a kelp for limits of yellowfin and dorado and is now looking for bluefin. Weather is great and he will be posting an end of the day report on the web-site.

Hello everyone, Today was spent traveling up. A great ride to end a great trip filled with a variety of fish. We would like to thank Billy Stephens for putting together such a great charter! Good evening everyone, Today we started off our Beck 5 day charter. We woke up pointed at a new area of water that has not been prospected yet. The day consisted of warm beautiful water, one kelp, and one boomer school of smaller yelllowfin tuna. The kelp had some great Dorado fishing to get everyone on the board. A truly great area of warm blue water. If there were more kelp or objects in the water it would have been interesting to see what they may have held. Our one boomer school of tuna was awesome to see, these tuna bit like crazy. Literally anything that hit the water from trolling jigs to bare gaffs they tried to eat! We only kept a couple each because we wanted to save room for larger fish, but it was a nice change of scenery seeing biting fish. Trying for yellowtail tomorrow. Wish us luck, Team Supreme
