Here we go again. We arrived early this morning and unloaded a deck full of bluefin and yellowtail, loaded up some sysco, put on a bunch of fuel, then loaded more groceries, put the new peeps on and took off on the glory run. The Gary Roberts 9 day baby. We got a good load of bait and we're headed down. It looks like we're going to pass by where we caught our bluefin last trip after daylight so we'll definitely be looking for those as we roll down. We'd never pass up that kind of fishing but we're not going to give it our all. If we don't see it and the other boats in the area aren't seeing it we're going to keep her rolling on down down down to destinations unknown. Or better yet not decided on. Either my next report will be about us catching bluefin or it will be about our traveling down.

POLARIS SUPREME TRIP UPDATE 10-03- 2020 Socked in fog today and this is all eye ball fish! We caught 1 fish in the dark and one mid day. It finally started biting late, bit into the dark and turned into a fantastic day. all Bluefin today 25-55 pounds. The seas where flat calm and look like they will be for a few more days. Only 1 pic too busy. In tomorrow and back out for 3. The Polaris Supreme Crew!

Hello and good morning! We will be pulling into the dock in a couple of hours off of our 3 day open group. The fishing was tough and you had to work hard to put a fish on board. This group was one of the hardest fishing and courteous toward each other group I have ever fished with. Good job Katrina and Guy's . We will be at the dock for 3 days before resuming our season. We fished our first day of the 5 day offshore kelp hunting. We saw plenty of kelps most having mucho yellowtail and mucho dorado on them. Unfortunately they were not in the moods to eat. We scratched out 60 mixed fish for our efforts today. We're heading for Benitos Island to fish for the night and at least a few hours in the morning. If it doesn't look good we will shoot down to the next island, Cedros.

Captain Ryan Bostian checked in tonight with an update from the San Diego out of Seaforth Sportfishing in Mission Bay, CA.  We are still fishing offshore everyday.  The last 5 days has been exclusively Bluefin Tuna.  A couple days ago we had 8.  Then 13 yesterday.  Today we had 16 Bluefin Tuna for 21 anglers.  These fish have been a challenge to hook.  A 25 pound flurocarbon outfit with a 1 or 2 sized live bait hook has been the ticket.  Or you can try the same outfit with an 80 to 160 gram flat fall jig.  The fish are 25 to 35 pounds.  There are 100 pounders around but they didn’t bite today.  Make sure you bring a heavy stick.  An 80 pound spectra outfit with a 2 speed reel and a heavy flat fall.  

The loads have been light.  Come on out and go fishing on the San Diego.

I'm sure like most of you at home, every morning lately I woke up in anticipation to read Richie's next fishing report and was let down to see nothing written. I was hoping he was just too busy on those shorter trips to write one for me but it's leaked into long range now too. So I guess your stuck with me.

We left today on a 6 day trip. Our bait choices were between healthy but giant sardine or not so healthy normal size sardine. We chose some of both. We'll have to see how it turns out but I am sure we will have some die off. Hopefully just the weak ones. Time will tell.

The weather out in the fishing grounds sounds windy and rough. We'll be crossing through an area tomorrow sometime around 10 in the morning and depending on the weather we'll either work the area or fish on through it on a down hill course to other more fishable grounds. One of the boats had a wahoo through these waters a couple days ago so we'll be trolling wire.

Captain Ryan Bostian checked in this afternoon with an update from “The San Diego,”    We have a Coronado Islands trip that is a for sure go.  We only have 4 anglers so the light is load.
