We had another slow day today darn it. It's crazy how fast things change out here. One day you're gettinum and the next day you're not. We tried for a few yellows this morning and caught to less than that. It wasn't long before we were out in the deeps hunting tuna. We saw very little. We covered alot of ground today for a few over 20 on the tuna. They were mostly jig strikes spread out throughout the day.
The weather out here is fantastic and we're enjoying our ride up. I can smell the filet's on the grill now Oscar style. Thanks again Archie, the group was great. We'll be in tomorrow and yes, departing on another 5 day.
Andrew Viola called in with a wrap up from the 1.5 day trip from the Pacifica out of Seaforth Landing in San Diego, CA.
We saw a good sign of fish yesterday. We picked up 48 Yellowtail and 4 Dorado to go with our 4 Bluefin Tuna.
The Pacifica is back out tomorrow night for a 1.5 day trip fishing offshore for Tuna and Yellowtail. Departs at 9PM.
164 yellowfin tuna from 15-30 lbs and 1 mahi-mahi. Right place at the right time today. Flylined baits on 15-40 lb and small colt snipers and Flatfalls. Adjust your tackle based on the mode of the fish. Their mode is constantly changing so be aware and donβt be afraid to ask questions.
Fishing reports for geelong pier are updated each week, usually by Thursday morning. The reports are compiled by an outside contractor who receives the information from bait shops, marinas and fishing guides.
