current eden Fishing Report 2025

Good afternoon Sports fans from the bridge of the Polaris Supreme. So this will be our last travel day report. Starting tomorrow, it'll be test time for the OTR crew, time to let them apply what they've learned in all of our seminars. This morning after breakfast, we gave our final seminar. Tuned the guys up on stand-up fishing, both harness style and using the rail. We also talked about various different styles of kite rigs. There isn't much more we can say, now it's time for hands on and see who payed attention in class.  The rest of the day is just going to be spent fine tuning all of the gear, tightening up any loose ends and getting a good night sleep because tomorrow is game time!  Today was mostly a travel day for us.  We did have a nice little surprise in the morning.  We had a double jig strike on wahoo.  Then we had a couple more singles.  Then we had one more single a little later along with a few dorados.  When we got to the yellowtail grounds in the afternoon we found mucho wind.  It was blowing 25-30 knots right through the grounds we were planning on fishing so we fished elsewhere.  We found a little spot with some current before dark and we captured 6 cow yellows, we're talking 30-40 pounders, to go along with lots of 10-12 pounders and some bonito.  Action is what we call that.  We now have to head north and we'd like to find some dorado tomorrow.  It's going to be a bumpy/windy ride up tonight and we hope for it to back off tomorrow for our fishing and ride home.
 

Mother Nature was kind to us today as we landed 164 yellowfin and 1 bluefin off of a 5 hr drift. Same tackle, a 20 lb bait rod and a 30 or 40 lb bait rod. Size 4 and 2 hooks.

We just got a report from the San Diego out of Seaforth Sportfishing in Mission Bay.    We have 40 Yellowtail on the boat so far today for our 37 anglers. Check out the our latest photo from yesterday!

July 27
    Todays saying for the fleet fishing with us was "you should of been here yesterday".  We fished in yesterdays hot yellowfin zone and it pretty much stunk.  It was one of those mornings when you wake up to find 30 boats in one little area and an hour or two later you don't see another boat because we all panic and split up to find where the fish swam off to because they're sure not here.  We had one kelp in the morning that had a good amount of tuna on it but it didn't bite well.  We were getting them one at a time for a little bit before it quit.  After that we didn't catch another tuna until after 5 PM.  We found a little stretch of water there that kept our interest up.  We started getting jig strikes. We found a kelp where we caught a nice little bit of tuna on and found an area of breaking fish that wouldn't bite.  We were stopping the boat until dark.  

    The weather was great today.  We're going to head down and fish the coast for yellowtails tomorrow.
