Good evening. Things are happening down here on the Polaris Supreme. From this morning until about 1500 hours, we didn't do hardly anything. Some of that time was spent traveling but what I'm getting at is rather impressive. From 1500 hours until dark, we caught our daily limits of 25-35 lb. bluefin, 19 yellowfin, and 1 dorado off of one stop. Very good fishing and to top it off, the weather is very pleasant and it's looking like more of the same for the next 48 hours. We'll see. Good times today, man. You know it's good when Chef Schooler's afternoon snack sat on the table for three hours, untouched. Schooler was pumped too, surprisingly. He gaffed fourteen fish today (you know it's good when Chef "Shabba" is out on deck), got most on the first shot, and didn't knock one off of the line. Sonny Jim! We're very proud of Shabba and the boys had themselves a real ball.

Anyhow, the boys are all tucked away and getting their rest for tomorrow. We'll chat with you then. Peace.

                These darn bluefin let me tell ya.  This morning looked so juicy.  We drifted for hours on 3 different schools and caught 9.  Hours.  And it's not like they weren't hanging around.  I mean the boat was jugged underneath.  They were under us like shishkabob.  9 fish.  We lost our fair share but 9 fish?  With what we saw?

 

                Mid day wasn't that awesome.  We saw some but it didn't impress me.  We messed around with some small yellows while we waited for things to straighten out.  At 4 things did.  Not right away.  We saw the school and it took a while to get things going but eventually it did.  We drifted for 2 straight hours catching fish.  Not wide open.  But fairly steady. 1-6 going.  Action.  Nice ones.  After that drift we did it again.  Again it took a while to get things going but again, it did.  We drifted until dark on that one.  About an hour.  Same deal.  Maybe a little less. 1-4 going.  So it was an afternoon thing today.  I'm sure glad we hung around for it.

 

                So we head in now.  We're departing tomorrow on a 5 day.  What are we going to do?

Capt Mike Prichard from the Tribute called in the final talley from their overnight with 148 Yellowfin Tuna from 8 - 45 lbs, some really goos fishing. We also had good Yellowtail of which we kept about 40 of the from 6 - 12 lbs with a couple in the lower 20 lb range, we also released a lot. We a also seeing al lot of Dorado around the kelps, we were not able to get any to bite today. Fishing across the board has been very good, although the Bluefin have not been around. Captain Ryan Bostian called in to relay a report from Captain Cameron. We have 19 anglers today aboard the San Diego and as of about 10 am we have 20 Yellowtail. Tomorrow and Monday are looking good. We are taking Tuesday off as it appears that it will be blowing pretty good.

Captain Mike Pritchard called in this morning with an audio update from the Tribute out of Seaforth Sportfishing in San Diego, CA.  We are off to a good start today.  We have a mix of Bluefin and Yellowfin Tuna.   We have 11 Bluefin (18 to 20 pounds) and 11 Yellowfin (15 to 30 pounds).  We have had good action this morning.  However, the light tackle has resulted in many casulaties.  

The Tribute is SOLD OUT this weekend.  But we have trips fishing next week with SPOTS open.  Call Seaforth at (619 224-3383 to get in on the action!
