Yaquina Bay Fishing Report

finally got a sunny day at the bay! took the chance and wow, what a difference! caught 6 nice rockfish and had a blast. the sun was out, the weather was perfect, and the fish were biting like crazy! used my favorite lure and felt like a pro. can’t wait to go again!

was out in the rain on the 26th, not the best conditions, but hey, that’s fishing right? i only caught one small salmon but lost a couple nice ones that felt heavy. switched to some heavier gear to handle the wind and rain, but just had a slow day. still love being out there tho! next time!

the patchy rain today was def annoying but it didn’t stop me! got lucky and caught a couple of halibut near the mouth of the bay. used cut bait and waited patiently. those guys are sneaky but they're out there for sure! ended up getting pretty wet but it was such a thrill!

fished yaquina yesterday, what a wet day! lol. the overcast made it hard to see the bites but managed to reel in 5 perch all around 2-3 lbs. had to work for em with some shrimp on a jig. at one point the wind picked up a lot but i just kept casting. feels good to catch even on tough days!

went out on the 20th, little bit of rain here and there but i was prepared. used my old trusty spoon and hooked into 4 nice salmon. the bites were slow at first, but once the rain picked up they came alive! weather was a bit iffy but overall a solid day. got soaked but totally worth it!
