We had a good day on the albacore. Everyone is having a great time in spite of the fact that the weather is sloppy and rough. However it looks like tomorrow it might lay down and we will have good weather. Let's hope. As I'm sure everyone knows by now, we have the Guadalupe permits. We might go there on our next two trips. Check in tomorrow for an update.

The Apollo is scheduled to run 1.5 Day Baja Rockfish trips. We are scheduled every weekend in February. You can book online via the Fisherman's Landing website or call the landing directly at (619) 221-8500.

Captain Mike Pritchard called in from the Tribute this evening. We had 141 mixed fish. We had Yellowtail and Yellowfin Tuna. We have another 1.5 day trip departing tomorrow night. Hi friends. We made it back up to the tuna grounds at first light and found absolutely beautiful weather and the "football" yellowfin tuna were hungry today. Steady jig strikes all morning all the way up until we found a kelp that accounted for most of our score on this day. It was a really fun kelp too. You could look in the water and see brown for most of the stop and these fish were on the squid real nice and the skip jig as well. Kub Ito even got in on some hand-line action which was pretty entertaining. Speaking of Kub, Kub had ten minutes of hardhat time for two minor offenses. Good job, Kubby bear. Anyhow, fun morning of fishing and flat calm, sunny weather to boot. A fine way to end a fine trip and Joe Beck and the boys are pumped.

Anyhow, we're traveling up the line in a very calm ocean and we're looking to arrive to the docks at 0600 where we will be getting the boat turned around and heading out on our annual Gary Roberts 9-day trip. We'll chat with you tomorrow evening sometime. Take care.

P.S. Absolutely no hardhat time for Mark this trip. Shocking, I know. Granted he was in the galley this trip but nonetheless, he was on the boat. Good job, Mark. You now have nine days to reclaim that beautiful yellow dome of yours. Stay tuned.

Hi friends. We departed this morning on Paul Hess' annual 5-day adventure with a great load of folks and a good load of bait. This is one of my favorite trips of the year not only for the excellent company but Sandra brought homemade peach/blueberry cobbler for us to munch on. That's what I'm talking about! I'm going on a diet just so be able to eat it whenever I please. We'll see how it goes.

Anyhow, we headed out to an area that one of our spotter plane friends saw sign of that school-sized Bluefins we found 9 schools, they were as boat-shy as they come. We managed to land 28 of those fish up to 25 pounds. We will be in search of the 55 to 75 pound fish. If we were to stay here tomorrow in this upper area, we'd run out of bait with so many short stops.

With that, we're heading further south in search of those beauties that we've been catching the last couple of weeks and we'll be there first thing in the morning. Wish us luck and we'll report back to you tomorrow evening. Take care.

Hi Anglers,

Good afternoon. We canceled our 3-day trip over the weekend awhile back, and just got lucky and picked up a private charter today that booked the whole boat. So we will be on our way tomorrow afternoon to the land of milk and honey. The main thing that I wanted to get out though, was the phenomenal amount of fish spotted by the SAC spotter plane. Can't give out particulars because it's proprietary. But it's a lot of fish in close. We should literally get two full days fishing.

We're pretty excited and we will be updating the website from the boat.

So far I'm only set up to send out these personal reports when I'm at the dock. Hopefully we'll be able to do it from the boat soon. So keep track of us on the website until I get back. And by the way we still have open spots on our 5-day departing Monday July 23 and 2 spots on our 5-day departing July 28th. Come fish!
