Captain Ryan Bostian called in this afternoon with an audio wrap-up for today’s trip at the Coronado Islands. Our final count is 109 Yellowtail and 35 Calico Bass for 33 anglers. Excellent fishing today at the Coronado Islands. Fly-lined Sardines and Surface Iron worked well. Just cast on the boil. Come on our and fish on the San Diego.

Today our 22 anglers landed 44 Yellowtail and 19 Bonito.  Tomorrow is a definite go with a light load.  Get out and enjoy this fishing before the bad weather starts.

 So here's what went down today aboard the Polaris Supreme.  We slept in this morning.  Breakfast wasn't until 9ish.  As far as the crew goes Tommy made us a whole long sheet of a work list that kept us busy most of the day.  After breakfast we did our wahoo seminar which we were all delighted to have deckhand Mark present it to us.  Fantastic.  After that JC had a gift for us all.  A brand new pair of electric sunglasses which for me could not have come at a better time.  I was in dire straights for shades so THANK YOU JC!!!  After was the movie of the day which was Wolf Street and in between was lunch and then some rigging of tackle by some of the passengers.  Nap time was next and then cocktail hour and now we're doing dinner.  Cornish game hens tonight.  Last night was prime rib.  And after is bed time because we have another tough day to look forward to tomorrow.
       
 

Polaris Supreme Trip Update 07-30-2016 What we started out our first day fishing with great hopes of success catching yellowtail right off the bat on the anchor. Those dreams ended quickly with only a handful of fish off-color dirty water and really not that much life compared to what we had seen in this area before. Knowing we needed to make tracks heading towards what we hope will be tomorrow's hot tuna grounds we quickly departed for offshore kelp patty fishing the rest of the day. Although we were in excellent water and saw plenty of kelp's we had no success. Beautiful weather fun group of guys no fish. That pretty much sums up yesterday. We just received word from the county that we are clear to go fishing starting tomorrow We will be fishing offshore for tuna and yellowtail. Please bring a 25 lb bait rod a 40 or 50 lb bait rod and a then a setup capable of landing a 100+ pound fish. Assorted circle hooks and some fluorocarbon. Hi friends. We finished up our trip today with a decent score of small bluefin, medium bluefin, small yellowtail, large yellowtail, dorado, and two very nice yellowfin. Mark also caught a yellow hard hat which he promptly wore the duration of the day. Anyhow, our weather started out kind of windy but by days end, it was absolutely gorgeous. We're happy everybody had a good time and we'll be in tomorrow morning sometime around 0800 hours. We'll be turning around and rollin' back out with Eric Rogger and company for a five-day adventure. Today was a travel day for us on-board the Supreme. Well, it was a half-travel, half-fishing day. We completed our seminars after breakfast and once the seminar wrapped up, chartermaster Joe Gigliotti handed out the goods. Everybody received various t-shirts from Accurate Reels, Five-Star Fish Processing, and Magnaflow Exhaust Systems, and everyone also received various jigs, line, and other tackle items. The big winners of the raffle were Steven Lowe, who won an Accurate reel and Charles Tasselli, who won a Calstar rod. Congrats to Steven and Charles and a big thank you to Joe for hooking us up with not only a bunch of Accurate gear for everyone to try out but for the gifts as well.

Anyhow, in our travels we managed to catch a few handfuls of really nice dorado for the galley and the gang also threw a few tags on them as well. We also caught a few tuna for the galley but most of what we caught was released to fight another day. Other than that, it was just a day of closing the distance from point "A" to point "B". We'll be to point "B" sometime in the morning and we'll see what we can do with a good load of bait, a veteran group of anglers, and some good weather ... for now.

We're currently monitoring Tropical Storm Paul and his whereabouts and we'll base our decisions on what his path decides to be. We'll take things one day at a time. With that, we say good night and we'll hit you up tomorrow.

Nice grade of Yellowtail on kelps, with really good sign of Tuna that were hard to catch. Also more Dorado showing on kelps, but the 2 we hooked, found their freedom.
