Hey guys:

We are still seeing plenty of yellowtail at the Coronado Islands. Our counts for the past week have been anywhere from 3 to 48 yellowtail per trip. It seems like if you get around the right school at the right time they will bite. We have seen schools at just about every spot at the islands. Today we went out with 28 passengers and caught 12 yellows. The biggest fish today was a 36 pounder caught on a fly lined sardine. Most of our fish have been in the 20 pound class and have been taken on fly lined sardines on 25 lb. and yo-yo jigs on 40 lb. The weather has been absolutely perfect. We are running everyday. Ryan Bostian called in with this report for the San Diego. "We went out on an offshore fishing trip with 18 anglers. We caught full Mexican limits of Yellowtail. We had limits real early in this trip. It took us 2 or 3 kelps to catch the limits. We spent the rest of the day looking around for Tuna or Dorado. We managed to catch 6 Dorado. We saw some Bluefin tuna but we were unable to get it to bite. Things are looking good down here guys. We're fishing 20 to 40 miles from home. The fishing action is right in our wheelhouse in terms of distance.

Wednesday, July 10th, 2013

Hi friends. Absolutely gorgeous weather out here today; it couldn't be beat. It was flat calm, it was windless, it was sunny. We liked it. We're currently en route to the bait/Yellowtail grounds and our ride is motionless. Chef Schooler and Chef Shawn our downstairs kicking out Scallop/Shrimp Alfredo and strawberry milkshakes and root beer floats for dessert. We like that too. Anyhow, here is our day went.

The Mustache put us on one school in the mid-morning and we had a really nice go-around on some 25-40 pounders but as soon as they came, they vanished. No rhyme or reason why but they did. We had a few "filler stops" on smaller grade Bluefin and also some school-sized Yellowfin tuna as well but it wasn't enough to keep us from calling it a slow day. It wasn't for lack of effort and wasn't because of lack of fish, by the way. We saw multiple breezers of Bluefin today but they didn't react or if they did, they gave us the slip. Very frustrating to say the least. But, we managed to put a few on the boat before we began our descent to do some inshore activities.

So that is all. We'll be into the zone at 0400 hours and we'll be trying for some carnada. Wish us luck and we'll hit y'all up tomorrow. Happy Hump Day, y'all.

Rolling down on the Ranta trip! Grease calm seas here rolling down on the Ranta 6 day trip. We had a great day of rigging, and are ready for action tomorrow. We may have a little wind this evening but it should subside by about 1 am for us. We start fishing tomorrow. Wish us luck!

Our fishing took a big step in the right direction today. We landed 9 bluefin from 30 to 140 lbs. very good sign of 25-75 pounders. Come prepared with a variety of line sizes from 25-80 lb.

Polaris Supreme Trip Update 11-28-2018 Today was one of those days you want somebody to slap you just to make sure you're not sleeping/dreaming. Excellent fishing on 62 to 100 pound grade yellowfin tuna. The seas were calm but it was pretty windy at times today. Make sure you guys brings a jacket next trip! Conditions were tough with a steady uphill current into the wind all day. The passengers managed to pull it off though with a beautiful catch. We have one more day to give this a try and are hoping the weather man is wrong about the ride home on Friday to Ensenada. It looks gnarly! The Polaris Supreme crew!

Finding that better grade. Today we spent the day Tuna fishing. At times it was frustrating with the large numbers of small fish. However there were some who stuck with it and were able to pull some 40 lb plus Yellowfin from the mix. We will spend tomorrow looking for another new species. Wish us luck, Team Supreme
