Polaris Supreme Trip Update 09-12-2019 Fun morning fishing for yellowtail today everybody got to pull on a couple and it was nice quality. Again our weather is beautiful and everybody had a great day. Were off traveling up the line for home the rest of the day and probably going to make a shortstop tomorrow for a little fun table fare! Add a little color to our fish. The Polaris supreme crew!

Here is a suggested tackle list for our 5:30 - 5:00 Coronado island trips for February and March. (1) a yo-yo outfit, this outfit should be a 20 or 30 size reel spooled with 40 lb. monofilament. Any 6 - 8 ft. rod rated for 40 lb. will work good. (2) Deep water cod rod. This outfit should be a 20 or 30 size reel spooled with 65 or 80 lb. spectra. Any 6-8 ft. rod capable of handling a 16 oz. sinker will work good. (3) a 25 or 30 lb. live bait outfit. This outfit should be a 20 size reel spooled with 25 or 30 lb. monofilament. A 7-8 ft. Rod rated for 25-30 lb. will be perfect. TERMINAL TACKLE. An assortment of torpedo sinkers from 6-16 ounces. A dozen rockcod hooks. We really like Mustad EZ baiters in the 10/0 size. A pack of size 2/0 live bait hooks. We really like Mustad 94150 A couple of heavy lures. Salas 6x jr and Salas 6x in blue/white and scrambled egg are perfect. Most of our trips we have been fishing deep water in the morning and shallow water in the afternoon. As soon as we see yellowtail the rock fishing will take a back seat.

Polaris Supreme Trip Update 08-07-2019 We spent the day today looking for kelp patties that might be loaded with Dorado Wahoo and Yellowfin Tuna or Yellowtail. It didn't work out! This pretty much winds up the trip for us. Today was a bust fishing wise but the dinner was a bonus! Roger cooked up pork Oso Buco and Cheese Orzo. It was absolutely delicious! Tomorrow we will be traveling up cleaning the boat headed back to San Diego for a Friday arrival. Here is a few photos from yesterday that deserve posting.

Captain Ryan Bostian called in last night. We just got in from our Coronado Islands Yellowtail trip. We had limits of Yellowtail for our group today. There are a few different schools of fish. Most the fish are 10 to 15 pounds. The fishing was very good today. YoYo jig and drop loop was hot. In the afternoon the surface fishing picked up. The San Diego is online everyday. Another good day for us today. Most of the first half of the day was spent traveling. We did some trolling and stuff and stopped on a kelp and took advantage of the mackerel we got. There was a ton of tiny yellowtail and small tuna on it but as soon as I talked everyone into using mackerel we started getting bigger tuna and some dorado. Shortly there after we found a school of those cow bluefin but all we got out of it was a couple boils. No bites. We looked around for a while after that only catching tuna that we wouldn't put a tag on because they were too small. Then out of the blue we had a problem with the boat that made us need to be drifting to take care of it so our friends on the Spirit Of Adventure were getting ready to leave a drift to make it to new grounds by morning time so we took it over. Perfect timing too. We needed to stop so why not stop on fish. That's what we did and they snapped for us until dark. The issue was taken care of and we're now drifting and will stay that way until sunrise tomorrow. The weather was good today. Compared to the last 5 days it was windy and rolly as hell but we've been spoiled the last 5 days. It's normal good weather now.

Mike Pritchard called in from the Tribute with this report. "This is the 1st day of our 2.5 Day trip. So far we have outstanding fishing over 190 mixed fish for the day. We have both Yellowfin and Bluefin down here. It looks like there might be some Yellowfin moving up. The Yellowfin are running anywhere from 12 to 35 lbs. and the Bluefin are 20 to 40 lb. fish. We also got a little bit of Dorado to go with it.

"We have room available for our 1.5 Day trip leaving Monday night as well as on Wednesday night."

YELLOWFIN ON THE REBOUND (090510) APOLLO came back in from a 2-day trip with 133 Yellowfin Tuna, 16 Albacore & 6 Bluefin Tuna. Time to go guys!!!
