170 yellowfin 93 skipjack. Good weather and great fishing, didn’t feel like November today.

Drew Henderson docked Polaris Supreme June 11 after a three-day trip. He fished offshore kelp paddies to find a good catch of small yellowtail, a bluefin tuna and an albacore. Dale Goss of Lakewood got the bluefin and first place, as his tuna weighed 31 pounds. He enticed it with a sardine on a 2/0 Hayabusa hook. He fished with 30-pound Big Game line, a Daiwa H 40 reel and a seven-foot Sabre rod. Manvel Miuasyan of Van Nuys was second, for a 21-pound yellowtail, and Scott Tucker of Riverside was third, for a 17-pound yellow. Josh Evans of San Francisco got the albie. He trolled a cedar plug in natural wood color to land his longfin.

Captain Ryan Bostian called in last night with an update from the San Diego out fo Seaforth Sportfishing in San Diego, CA. Today we had 24 anglers catch 2 Wahoo and 52 Yellowtail. The fishing was very good. We did have lose 4 Wahoo. The grade on the Yellowtail was very nice. The majority of the Yellowtail was 12 to 20 pounds. Amazing fishing and very low pressure at the islands. I would not be surprised if we see some Bluefin Tuna. We can now keep Bluefin Tuna in Mexican waters. Captain Andrew Viola checked in this morning at 8:59 PM with an audio update from the Pacifica out of Seaforth Sportfishing in Mission Bay, CA.  We have been drifting for an hour and have put together a good score so far.  We have 62 Yellowfin Tuna and 4 Bluefin Tuna.  We are still drifting with fish around the boat.

We have a 1.5 day trip departing on Wednesday night.  We also have a full day trip on Sunday.  Come out fishing on the Pacifica!!!!

Good morning everyone, Today we tried for bear, we were going big or going bust! We had our sights set on these big Bluefin Tuna. The tuna were very particular on what they ate. If you were persistent with a nice lively bait over and over all day long you had a chance at a bite. Bites were few and far between but when if you got picked up it was a big one. We had two bites today and one of them bit our charter master Vernon Burkes bait. He was prepared and ready with the right gear, the right persistence mindset, and capitalized on his opportunity with a large Bluefin Tuna! Today it was nice to have a chance at these fish but we are going to try inshore tomorrow for yellowtail. Wish us luck! Team Supreme

We caught 60-100lb Bluefin Tuna along with some school sized Yellow fin and Yellowtail on our father’s day 2 day.

Conditions seem to be improving for Bluefin Tuna fishing within the past couple days. The fish are more willing to bite for those who are willing to put their time in.

40, 50, even 60lb test mono,  floro carbon, with a designer 1/0 hook has been the go to outfit size for the grade of tuna around. However even though the 60-100 lb fish is the main size we have been seeing, the 100-200lb fish are in the area as well.
