tw Fishing Report 2024

Fishing was a little tough off shore today. There was yellowfin for everyone and we got a few dorado on kelp, but not the big hits like we have been getting. Fished the island with very little signs and only a handful of yellowtail. Tomorrow we will be looking around the island. Weather is decent, and looks like it will be getting better tomorrow. The San Diego finished today with 23 yellowfin 42 skipjack. Still plenty of fish out there. Make those reservations.

We just departed on another 5-day. The bait isn't the best of the year by any means but it is what it is and we'll take it for what it is. We're heading straight for the albacore grounds for this afternoon and tomorrow and we'll take the trip from there. Check back.

"This trip was as planned," said Polaris Supreme skipper Drew Henderson at Fisherman's Landing October 15. "It went perfectly." He had just returned for a seven-day excursion south, with 24 anglers. Brian Henricks of San Pedro won first place for a 123-pound tuna. He said he bagged it with a sardine on a 3/0 ringed Super Mutu hook, tied to 50-pound fluorocarbon leader, 50-pound pink Ande line and 65-pound Spectra backing on a Tiagra 20 reel and a six and a half-foot custom Shikari rod. "He kicked my butt," remarked Henricks, "for an hour and a half." Scott WEolff of Simi Valley was second for a 109.4-pounder, and he was tied by John Drnello of Templeton, who got his 109.4-pounder on 40-pound line. He said it was the first big fish of the trip.

We traveled down to do some island fishing and late in the day we got into some excellent quality yellowtail. However, it wasn't going to stop there. Our evening bite was fantastic. Absolutely beautiful big yellowtails. Most all were over 30 lbs and lots over 40 lbs. Today was a fun day to be on the water. Thanks for checking in. Tommy and crew P.S. The past couple of days we have seen some very large schools of yellowtail. Today we went out with 31 anglers and caught 14 yellowtail. If you have ever wanted to catch a 25 lb. yellow on the surface iron, this is the time for you. Bring a yo-yo rod a bait rod and a surface iron rod if you are coming out.

Hello Everyone, Today was the ultimate tackle day. We spent the day preparing all our gear for the following days to come. Spooling up reels, wiring up bait leaders, bombs, and marauders for Wahoo. It was a nice day rolling down to take care off all of these things. Tomorrow we will start fishing. We have the opportunity for Yellowfin tuna, Wahoo, and Yellowtail all in the same spot! Polaris Supreme Report 07-25-2016 Hey everyone, Another beautiful day out here on the offshore waters of northern Baja. Today we searched for kelp patties, breeezers, and bird schools. We did very well finding kelp, however it just doesn't seem that the large volume of fish has moved in on them yet. Hopefully soon! Later in the afternoon we found a nice temp break that lead some exotic Dorado and Yellowtail, even a Sea Turtle popped got in on the action. The yellows were large and healthy, and the Dorado were a welcome sight and hopefully a good precursor to the warm water fish months ahead. Tomorrow we will be fishing for big yellowtail and maybe a seabass or two Wish us luck! Team Supreme
