Today our passengers made it thru the strong south wind, fought off the morning sickness, and were rewarded with 93 yellowfin tuna and 108 skipjack tuna. Our schools would go back and forth from aggressive to line shy. A wise angler would have a variety of line sizes from 20 to 50 lb. small hooks are very important. Size 2 Mustad 94150 or something similar.

29 yellowtail, 44 reds, and 100 whitefish. Yellowtail sightings are starting to become very consistent. Spring is in the air.

Polaris Supreme Trip Report 08-13-2016 We had another fun day today! Today was a little different though most of the fun was catching fish not traveling. We had very good yellowtail fishing all day, we started off right at the crack of dawn with flurry fishing which progressed into a wide-open bite for several hours and then flurry fishing again! After a midday low it all started up again through the rest of the day. We were catching fish mostly on bait. Fly lighting was number one with dropper loop fishing coming in a close second. We didn't have a lot of jig fish but that probably was contributed to the fact that we didn't have anyone fishing jigs most of the time. Weather is excellent and were hoping to do this again tomorrow. Thanks for tuning in the Polaris Supreme Team!

Captain Mike Pritchard called in at grey light from the Tribute out of Seaforth Sportfishing in Mission Bay, CA. We caught 2 Bluefin Tuna at grey light. We have one fish hanging. Good Morning Everyone. We had a great mixed bag fishing today. We caught some great grade Yellowtail, Yellowfin Tuna, and trophy Grouper. We managed to land one Wahoo as well. Lot of fish around today, just a lack of current to activate them. Hopefully we have some current tomorrow. Will Report then, Team Supreme

Ryan Bostian called in from the San Diego with this report, "As it stands right now we are only about 30 miles from homw and we have about 150 Yellowtail on the boat, 6 Bluefin tuna & 6 or 7 Dorado. Hi friends. We departed this morning on Paul Hess' annual 5-day adventure with a great load of folks and a good load of bait. This is one of my favorite trips of the year not only for the excellent company but Sandra brought homemade peach/blueberry cobbler for us to munch on. That's what I'm talking about! I'm going on a diet just so be able to eat it whenever I please. We'll see how it goes.

Anyhow, we headed out to an area that one of our spotter plane friends saw sign of that school-sized Bluefins we found 9 schools, they were as boat-shy as they come. We managed to land 28 of those fish up to 25 pounds. We will be in search of the 55 to 75 pound fish. If we were to stay here tomorrow in this upper area, we'd run out of bait with so many short stops.

With that, we're heading further south in search of those beauties that we've been catching the last couple of weeks and we'll be there first thing in the morning. Wish us luck and we'll report back to you tomorrow evening. Take care.
