Captain Ryan Bostian called in last night. We just got in from our Coronado Islands Yellowtail trip. We had limits of Yellowtail for our group today. There are a few different schools of fish. Most the fish are 10 to 15 pounds. The fishing was very good today. YoYo jig and drop loop was hot. In the afternoon the surface fishing picked up. The San Diego is online everyday. Far from wide open but today’s charter group was made up of people that get it. Weather we catch 200 fish or 0 fish, the Lindhart charter always enjoys the day. 20 yellowtail and 51 calico bass took the plunge into the RSW today.

This trip had a little of everything. (1) stressed out captain because he thought we might get skunked. (2) line shy, finicky tuna that would only bite light line. (3) Wide Open, heavy line eating, 45 going, madness. (4) a really cool shark that hung with us while we caught 198 yellowfin tuna.

Capt Ryan checked in from the San Diego out of Seaforth Landing, today they went out on a 3/4 day trip with 48 anglers. We ended the day with 39 Yellowtail, the water temperature cooled a little with this front we had. The temperature when we arrived was about 61.5 degrees, as the day went on the temperature warmed up nicely and was 65 degrees as we headed home. We saw some really nice schools of fish today and it should only improve as the weekend gets here, they seem a little lethargic right now. But as they adjust the fishing should only get better. Make sure to bring a yoyo rig, flyline rig and a surface iron rig, come on down and get in on this action. We are fishing everyday with a departure time of 5:30 am.

Today we went out with 22 anglers and had a nice surprise. While driving towards the rockcod grounds we scanned up a nice school of yellowtail along the bottom. After a short drift we had three 25 lb. yellows on the deck. Hopefully this is just the beginning. Grab your yo-yo outfits and come on down.

Way to go guys, awesome year !!!!So when good friend and Santa Barbara local Doug Browand called and said a bunch of local firefighters and friends had chartered the #1 boat in the land for a little Island Freelance trip, I was packing my gear and clearing my schedule in a hurry. We loaded up on time and headed out of Sea Landing in Santa Barbara straight to Santa Rosa Island in case the squid and WSB wanted to show. J.J promised us some outrageous rockfish and lingcod action if the seabass were still MIA. We gave it a solid effort but with no signs of squid or WSB we motored up and headed out to some of Captain J.J's secret rocks and reefs. The first drift of the day produced monster reds and chuckles that rival some of the nicest and biggest rockfish I've seen and caught in many years. The Channel Islands Rockfishing is on Fire !!!!!! Throw a bunch of nice legal lings into the mix and you're talking a really fine day of fishing and a great time for all. The fishing at the Islands is only going to get better and J.J and the boys on the Apollo will be there fishing for them everyday. 51 bass 36 barracuda 1 sheepshead. We spent our day looking for a new zone with better conditions. We saw a couple schools of yellowtail but did not connect. Still enjoyed fun fishing in excellent weather.

151 yellowfin 7 skipjack. Nice weather, steady action, and lots of laughs. Please remember that fishing is supposed to be fun. Egos are best left at the dock.
