truman lake Fishing Report 2024

Hello everybody! Jodie here,wanted to tell you guys about the 5.5 we have fishing Cedros, and Benitos the first week of June. We will be targeting Yellowtail, Calico Bass, and spending some time offshore for that early arrival of big BFT,s! Limited Load 18 passengers Departs May 31 at 6pm Returns June 6 at 6am Trip cost is $1300, there is only a few spots available on this one. as of one it is our only open party of the year!  Well, as promised we left on another trip today.  This one being an LA Rod and Reel Club long range 2 day trip.  We got a nice jump on things.  We were done getting bait and leaving the harbor by 11:00 this morning which allowed us to get to the tuna grounds by 5:00 this evening which allowed us to find a school of yellowfin before dark which allowed for most of the anglers on board to catch at least one which allowed me to feel satisfied about our day today.  Catching fish on a departure day.  Those fish were free.  Tomorrows the true day.  That's when we get real nasty.  So right now we're anchored up in the cove of an island and I couldn't be happier about it.  For the last week at night this boat has been running.  We've always been traveling somewhere so it feels real nice to be on anchor with the engines off.  It's even better that we're in a protected cove.  It's like being in the bay.  I can't speak for everyone on board but I'm pretty sure I'll be sleeping with my thumb in my mouth tonight.  Until tomorrow....
        
 

Polaris Supreme Trip Report 07-20-2016 Yesterday did not turn out like we had hoped we spent the better part of the day looking for kelp's with no luck. We just did not have the right track traveling down. We ended up scratching a few nice yellows but overall besides the weather, today was disappointing fishing wise. This morning isn't starting off to great we rounded the corner to our destination and watched the water dropped 2°. Were sitting here in the gray light hoping that the yellowtail didn't notice it! We do have a fallback plan I certainly hope we don't have to use it! The Polaris Supreme Crew!

Well hello all.  We departed today on a 5 day trip with many regulars on board and so far a good load of bait which is key to starting off a successful trip.  As I'm writing this I still don't know where we're going tomorrow. On the one hand I'm listening to the boats on the radios and hearing them finding schools of bluefin in the 15-30 pound range that aren't biting well, and on the other hand there is a whole lotta 50-70 pound bluefin that are unaccounted for.  2 weeks ago it was everywhere and then it vanished.  It's somewhere out here and we want to find it.  I'll make the decision at dark whether to stop short for the local bluefin or keep her rolling down in search of the bigger grade BF.  Tune in tomorrow to find out where we end up.  I'll be curious myself.  For now that dinner bells getting close to ringing and we're looking forward to that prime rib.

Polaris Supreme Trip Report 09-22-2016 Today was the same but very much different. It was the same in that we woke up very tired from nighttime fishing for yellowtail last night, it was the same in that we had excellent Wahoo fishing today, it was the same in that we had great weather. What was different was the way we caught the Wahoo. It was all on the anchor. So now we have caught Wahoo on the anchor, Wahoo drifting when they wouldn't bite the jigs, and Wahoo in giant shark Malays trolling. And one other different thing we had great fishing on tuna today. We haven't seen them for a couple days but today they did us right again. We're going to start working up the line and aren't sure if we going to have any time to fish left. We got a long ways to go home! It has been an absolutely fantastic trip in absolutely beautiful weather with a great great group of anglers who are now going to take some long long naps traveling home while breaking down their Tackle. PS don't forget we have openings on our day and a half trip leaving Sunday evening at 6 PM fishing all day Monday, and returning Tuesday morning 6 AM. San Diego Anglers Private charter enjoyed beautiful weather and excellent fishing. 1 yellowfin and limits of dorado.

Went 1 for 2 on local Yellowtail. Fish are holding tight to the bottom, much like the one's we've been seeing regularly at the Coranado Islands. Our guess is that fish is moving north. This one ate a sardine on the dropper loop. We have Monday open for charter, then some days in July. Come on out and enjoy the fishing. 

Welcome back. We departed today on a 7 day trip. We're currently heading down the coast unsure of a starting point. We're in a good position as far as making a decision. We have a good spread of boats in different areas so we'll have a good check on the ocean. We'll either keep rolling down tonight or stop short for an afternoon of yellowtail fishing and take it from there.
