tellico river Fishing Report 2024

Today we departed on Bob Vance's annual 5-day charter. It's always great to see Bob and his group. He is one of our longest running charters, and while there are always a couple new faces, there a quite a few that have been with Bob since the beginning. We spent the day traveling, preparing our gear, and dined on a monstrous grilled steak and potato for dinner. We are underway and anxious to get our lines in the water. Check in tomorrow. Hello Everyone, Today we spent the day chasing Fin Whales and bird schools, there were very nice schools of Yellowfin associated with them. Tuna ranging from 8 lbers to 40lbs! there were defiantly some nice fish mixed in. In addition to that there were some Dorado around. Lots of life making for an exciting day. We will be chasing these fish again tomorrow, wish us luck. Will report back then, Team Supreme

Arrived at our fishing destination today at 9:30am. As soon as we put the anchor down we were going full speed on a very nice grade of yellowtail. The small ones were 16 lbs. and then went up to over 30 lbs. The weather again is beautiful.. We headed up the line and got to where we were going before dark to fish a couple hours for rock cod and then we headed west into the offshore mode. Scallops and fresh yellowtail for dinner. Polaris Supreme Trip Update 08-07-2012

Absolutely gorgeous flat calm weather today. And that was the key to pulling the rabbit out of the hat at the end of the day. Definitely a slow start from morning through mid-day. But in the afternoon it was game on, on light breezers of yellowfin tuna. The schools probably only held 50 fish each and were really, really hard to see. Just barely making the lightest ripple on the water. The challenge of it made it really fun for Drew and I trying to spot them. Especially since they immediately bum rushed the boat when we slid on them. And everybody hooked one right off the bat. If you were quick, you got two before it was all over. And then off we were to find another school. The fast pace was very exciting after the last two days of plunker fishing. We fished late so we will have a late arrival tomorrow, probably around 9:00 am. We will get out an update on jackpot contenders and then for the next 3-day, Captain Drew will be out with the Prince of Words, Richie, doing the updates.

Hello Everyone, We had a nice day of travel today. Mainly rigged up and took care of some chores. The guys were able to wet a line once today on a single kelp. There was a lot of Dorado on the kelp but none wanted to bite. However we did land a nice Yellowtail. We will be on the hunt for more Yellows in the morning. Will report again tomorrow, Team Supreme

Monday, September 10th, 2012

Hi friends. Just a real dandy of a day for us today. We started it out in the morning with the yellowtail snap and then we followed it up in the afternoon with Monday night footballs. The footballs were all you wanted and we also added a small handful of dorado to our days count. We did all of this in flat calm conditions and the boys are all wore out from the excellent fishing that we had today. Everybody's pumped and I screamed myself hoarse today.

For tomorrow, we're looking for tuna with a little more size as one of our code boats had a nice afternoon on those premium grade offshore yellowfin tuna so we'll be in the area looking around for a few ourselves. The boys enjoyed a twenty-two year old Cabernet sauvigon tonight and I think Robin and Wayne might have shed a tear together while talking about it. I still haven't had any but the dudes looked pretty glossy-eyed so I imagine it was pretty darn good.

Anyhow, the Blue/White gang is having a super duper fantastic time catching fish, drinking cocktails/wine, and eating Chef Shawn's culinary creations. Our weather forecast is looking good for tomorrow so hopefully we can get on a big ole' school of big yellowfin. Wish us luck.

Well we wound up the last day of fishing with some good offshore action on kelp patties. Everybody pulled on a lot of fish and kept 2 or 3 nice quality yellowtail and dorado to take home. Weather is absolutely superb. And so was our final dinner, steak and lobster. We'd like to thank Eric Rogger and his group for such a fun trip. Captain Ryan Bostian called in with an audio update from the San Diego out of Seaforth Sportfishing in Mission Bay. We have been fishing offshore for about a month now. Just recently we are seeing the fish starting to bite full speed. Today we have a rent rod charter with 100+ Yellowfin Tuna. Be sure to bring your 25 pound outfits and a 40 or 50 too. When the bite really good go heavier.
