Polaris Supreme Trip Update 07-28-2016 We finished up our trip today with some scratch yellowtail fishing all morning and then an afternoon of rock cod fishing, all in all a very successful day and trip. Thank you very much Mark Costello and fellow anglers for making it so. Were heading up in some beautiful weather and looking forward to our next group with Tom Chaparro and his limited load of only 18 anglers.We still have openings on our four-day trip after Tom's five day if you would like to come out fishing with us! We are hearing signs of yellowfin tuna that actually wants to bite. We are excited to give it a try here on Tom's trip. And no Mark Castillo group it's not the local stuff! Polaris Supreme Trip Report 08-21-2016 Hello Readers, Today was another beautiful day on the water. Fishing was tough but we made a day out of it. It was definitely quality over quantity today. We are all very optimistic about what tomorrow has in stock for us! Thanks for reading, Team Supreme

51 anglers, 106 Yellowfin Tuna, 255 Skipjack Tuna. Saved by one stop again.

Skipper JJ Gerritsen returned with his Apollo to Fisherman's Landing November 21, after an eight-day, ultra-limited trip. The boat's ten passengers fished Guadalupe Island before taking off for Magdalena Bay to fish big tuna on their final day. "All of our long range trips are ultra-limited," said JJ. "It takes away competition factors, we won't do more than ten passengers. We got limits of yellowfin, Guadalupe's been great our last six trips, but we did something different this time; we headed out for a shot at these big ones. All of our fish are kept in refrigerated saltwater, so they still look great." Matt Bowland of Encinitas took home the best tuna; a 224-pound yellowfin that fought "long and hard." Matt used a 6/0 Owner ringed Super Mutu hook, on an 80-pound P-Line topshot, 100-pound Spectra, a Tiagra 30 reel and a Calstar Grafighter 765 H rod. "I butt-hooked the sardine," said Matt. "The fight lasted two and a half hours." Drew Card of San Diego was second with a 196-pound tuna, and Craig Biddick of Rancho Santa Fe was third for a 164-pounder.

Captain Ryan Bostian checked in this evening from the San Diego out of Seaforth Landing in San Diego, CA. Today we had 36 anglers catch 61 Yellowtail and 69 Barracuda. We had excellent action today.

Hello Everyone, We just departed on our annual AHI charter. Defiantly a great group of anglers who know how to have a little fun with each as well as put some fish on the boat. At the moment we have the outdoor speaker system hooked up and secure, a beautiful load of bait aboard, and the Supreme pointed south eagerly steaming to our destination. July 20
    We had another slow day today darn it.  It's crazy how fast things change out here.  One day you're gettinum and the next day you're not.  We tried for a few yellows this morning and caught to less than that.  It wasn't long before we were out in the deeps hunting tuna.  We saw very little.  We covered alot of ground today for a few over 20 on the tuna.  They were mostly jig strikes spread out throughout the day.

    The weather out here is fantastic and we're enjoying our ride up.  I can smell the filet's on the grill now Oscar style.  Thanks again Archie, the group was great.  We'll be in tomorrow and yes, departing on another 5 day.
                            

 

Sep. 18

Well that wasn't very fun. Lame is what I would call it. We fished the exact same as we did yesterday but only in reverse. We started where we finished yesterday and finished where we started and yes, it was lame. Not much fish and a whole lot of wind. You could of surfed some of the waves we saw yesterday. Needless to say we got out of there and headed up to where the weather is nice and there is a plethora of fish. We hope. It's the afternoon of the 19th and we're almost to the grounds. We'll check back tonight.
