We spent today offshore mostly looking to top off on dorado. There were 7 of us long range boats looking to do the same today. There was plenty of this warm water for all though. Unfortunately there wasn't enough kelps with fish on them for all. We were one of the more lucky ones. We didn't completely top off but we were only 20 fish shy. Along with the dorado we caught some small tuna off a few spots. 3-5 pounders. Now keep in mind most everyone on board have never fished out here in there lives. When everyone on board hooked one of these tuna at once, it was great. They were all so excited and they all just loved it. Don't worry, I very much encouraged the release of these fish. This was a great group of guys. Great. Super laid back and just enjoyed every minute out here. Caught a bunch of colorful jumping dorado, lots of yellers and even a marlin. I can't wait to have them back. And you know it's true too because I usually don't write that. I love all our passengers.
Tomorrow we get in and leave again for just 2 days this time. Hopefully we get out of there good and early and then et some fishing in tomorrow. I have no idea what we'll do after that though. Time will tell.

Remember yesterday I was talking about plans? Well if you read my first report of the trip I talked about dragging our feet a day and waiting for the weather to get pristine out at the Rocks. That was the master plan and well, it worked out. Today we had great weather to go along with our great wahoo fishing. We arrived to the grounds at 7:30 and we were getting steady jig strikes on wahoo to go along with jigging and baiting until about 5:30 when things around here went to bed. I really wanted 4 more wahoo for the magic number but we tried and tried and we gave up. The fish went to bed so we will too. We're now sitting on anchor getting ready to enjoy a nice sunset before eating a nice dinner. Like I said , the weather couldn't be better. We'll have a great nights sleep. We're going to try this again in the morning and take it from there. It's the last day we ever get in August of 2014 and I'm glad we spent it here.
Gary, we wish you were here. You would have had a blast today. We hope your feeling well.
Susan, Rolf says he has you covered on the wahoo.

Weather took a turn for the worse. Today it was darn right sloppy
looking for tuna. Although there was fair signs of 25-35 lb tuna, it
wasn't what we were looking for. We were on what little sign there was
of 200 lb tuna most of the morning, but it didn't want to bite. Scott
caught and released a 110 pounder and Tom lost one well over 200 lbs.
One other boat picked up two over 200 lbs., otherwise that was the only
sign of cows seven boats had for the day. The water has cooled off
quite a bit. Otherwise there is still plenty of bait around. We are
going to bust a move tonight. We will be traveling two more days. Oh
yea, lunch was bar-b-que beef, hors d'oeuvres more sushi and sashimi and
dinner was Chilean sea bass in a mango salsa with fresh jalapenos and
cilantro. Man that was good. I had two helpings myself!
Thanks!

We are underway in gorgeous weather. Our bait we
picked up at the receiver is perfect 6-8 " sardines. We have eight
anglers on board. George, Craig, Al, Bobby, Scott, Sheridan, Tom, and
Roger. Our crew is Captains tommy, Drew and Kevin. Our deck crew is
Mike, Dave and Perry, and our chef is Javier.
All the boys are napping right now after a delicious chicken
breast with plum sauce for lunch. We will be traveling for at least two
days before we start fishing, so don't expect anything but naps, rigging
and food reports for the next few days.
Hope you all had a great Christmas!

Larry Brown chartermastered a 976 TUNA father-son five-day trip aboard Polaris Supreme with skipper Drew Henderson. The expedition returned to Fisherman's Landing June 21. The trip produced a remarkable catch of yellowtail that included some halibut, three bluefin and two albacore.
Brown said the yellowtail fishing at Cedros Island was excellent, though seals created some problems.
"The weather was good except the wind came up on the last day, when we fished outside," he said.
The jackpot lineup was most unusual: an opah, a white seabass and a yellowtail. Mark Taylor of Jamul got the first-place, 67.2-pound moonfish or opah, on a sardine-colored Mega Bait jig, with 40-pound Big Game line on a Trinidad 30 reel and a Seeker 6470 Black Steel rod.
Rick Parks of Watsonville won second place for a 54.6-pound white seabass that took his sardine on a dropper loop. Alex Bravo of San Diego won third place for a 47.2-pound yellowtail.
The kid's jackpot featured two yellowtail bracketing a bluefin tuna. Alex Bravo Jr. of San Diego, 14, won first place for a 42.6-pound yellow. Sydney Mack, 10, (whose dad Dave works on the boat) caught a 32.8-pound bluefin tuna. David Jacobsen, 10, got a 32-pound yellowtail.

Come fishing on November 30ths 7 day.
We are all locked and loaded. Wahoo leaders are crimped, tied, and twisted. The tuna gear is on and ready to grab. Even the people who have giant Grouper on the mind have their heavy gear and big hooks tied on ready to flyline a Skipjack. We feel very ready and anxious to start fishing.
Hopefully they cooperate .
Will Report again tomorrow,
Team Supreme
