st mark`s Fishing Report 2025

4th of July action! 38 passengers 6 yellowtail 149 barracuda 7 kelp bass. Very good action all around the islands today. Fly lined sardines and surface lures were the best today. Come on down and see us the weather is flat calm.

How's it going everyone, We have just wrapped up our second day of fishing. We started up the morning in prime yellowfin country. The morning began with short stops with fish being caught on the troll and live baits on the slide. After searching the area for a couple hours we were able to find what we wanted, a big school of Yellowfin tuna that were eager to come aboard the Polaris Supreme. From skip-jigs to dead bait these hungry yellowfin wanted it all. During the late morning fishing noticeably slowed, and we decided work our way out of that yellowfin zone and begin heading towards an area were we will be fishing for bigger grade Yellowtail. Filled with anticipation and a delicious chicken dinner, we all hit the sack early to be well rested for the day to come! Also on side note, we just had a spot open up on our next trip, the Beck 5 day. A great group of guys to fish with and a great time of year to fish! Tight lines, Team Supreme

Capt Mike Pritchard checked in with this report from the Tribute. "Another great day of fishing here. We have limits of Yellowtail. Now we are in search of some Bluefin. We have caught one so far.

We are underway in gorgeous weather. Our bait we picked up at the receiver is perfect 6-8 " sardines. We have eight anglers on board. George, Craig, Al, Bobby, Scott, Sheridan, Tom, and Roger. Our crew is Captains tommy, Drew and Kevin. Our deck crew is Mike, Dave and Perry, and our chef is Javier. All the boys are napping right now after a delicious chicken breast with plum sauce for lunch. We will be traveling for at least two days before we start fishing, so don't expect anything but naps, rigging and food reports for the next few days. Hope you all had a great Christmas!

The last one is a 2.5 day charter at the end of July. This is limited to 18 passengers. Trip departs on July 26th fishing on the 27th and 28th and returns on the morning of the 29th.

Hello Everyone, Today we had a great day of fishing. Lots of species. Yellowfin Tuna, Yellowtail, Dorado, Wahoo, Grouper, and even a few Pargo. It was a blast, action all day. The Yellowfin Tuna we caught were a great grade. 15-25 lbs. The Key to these larger grade fish was light line and a small hook. 25-30lb test and a size 2 hook. On this particular trip we have an abundance of Accurate Loaner Reels. The small Tern reels and Valiant reels really stood out when fishing these larger grade Yellowfin. Tomorrow we will be targeting a larger grade of Yellowtail. Wish us Luck, Team Supreme

Hey guys, the yellowtail counts at the Coronado Islands have dropped a bit the past couple of days. There are a couple reasons for the slower fishing. First reason is the south wind we have had for the last two days. This south wind has dropped the water temp a few degrees therefore making the yellows a little less active. The second reason is the seal ions have stepped up there game. In the last three days we have lost at least 40 yellowtail to the lions. Good news is , the south wind is predicted to end by the end of today. Starting Tuesday we should start to see the water begin warming again. With the warming water the yellowtail should get more active making them easier to hook. With the seal ions acting as a tax collector it just comes down to the fact that we need to hook more fish. When we are hooking more fish both the seal ions and us can get our share. The best way to hook these yellowtail has still been a flylined sardine on 25 lb. test. The Coronado Island yellowtail have not gone anywhere , they are still there. We just need the water to warm a tiny bit so we can start catching them again. Look for better counts in the next few days. Today's photo is of a father and son with 3 yellowtail caught on Saturday. Quality family time in the outdoors is what it is all about ! Well, today was just swell. We caught bluefin. Yup, lots of them. We found a school a little while after breakfast and stayed drifting till a little while after lunch. I've just now been staring at this screen for a few minutes drawing a blank on what to write. Mark just woke me up for my watch and I guess I'm not a midnight writer so I'll keep it simple. It was a lot of fun. The fish were in the 30-40 pound range with our spring scale calling the biggest at 49 pounds. After that school wouldn't bite anymore we went on search for another and found just a dandy of a school but it would have nothing to do with us so we search, search, search. About an hour maybe longer before dark we found what we were looking for and stopped the boat on a school of biting fish and had another nice shot at them before and into and after dark.

I'm going to have to give Tommy the credit for todays fishing. For a while today I thought maybe it was all about my lucky 7-11 cap I've been wearing but I think Tommy just did a good job of finding those schools today. Hat or no hat, we just nailed them today. The weather was good today and we're still drifting and my legs aren't very spread apart so you know it's good drifting and good sleeping. We're going to give it a little while tomorrow before having to call it a trip and head for home.
