POLARIS SUPREME TRIP UPDATE 10-02-2020 Great fishing today on Bluefin from 35-160 and yellow fin 40-70 pounds in slick weather! The Polaris Supreme Crew!

Variety was the theme on our first 3 local fishing trips of the year. Yellowtail , bonito , halibut , calico bass , sand bass , sheephead , lingcod , red rock cod and rockfish were all part of our fish count the past few days. The highlight of our weekend was a yellowtail we caught Sunday morning that was every bit of 30 pounds. The best rigs were a dropper loop with 6 oz. torpedo sinker and a sliding egg sinker rig with a 3/4 oz. Our next trip is on Friday November 23. Call Seaforth at 619-224-3383 for reservations.

 Hello October and hello you all and welcome back to the Polaris Supreme.  We were off for a week if you didn't notice.  The crew, we all did our own thing except for Tuesday and Wednesday we all got together for a little maintenance.  And now we're back out here. We all came back to the boat talking about how great we cook wahoo.  "I cooked it this way, you should try it". "Oh no, you should try it my way".  Basically I think wahoo is just good.  We left for 2 days this morning and we're pumped.  We had a report of a floating kelp pattie that was producing good days for many boats this morning so we thought we'd give it a try too.  Thankfully it was all rigged up with a flag and a reflector and stuff because the sun was getting low by the time we made it out there and I'm not sure we would have found it without it.  Anyways like most rigged kelps there was a school with it and it bit pretty well  for us for about an hour and then it got dark.  The fish were tuna.  A bit on the smaller side but that's what's around and that's what everyone's been catching so we were cool with it too.

 Tomorrow we're hoping to get down and crazy with some dorado.  We heard of a zone with some floating kelp with schools of those colorful fish and we're going to try and find some.

 We have a new PA system on board and that thing pumps.  Holy Toledo can that thing put out some power.  I think I could take that thing to Petco Park and announce a Padre game with it.  Just some more raw power for the Polaris Supreme.
        

Arrived at our fishing destination today at 9:30am. As soon as we put the anchor down we were going full speed on a very nice grade of yellowtail. The small ones were 16 lbs. and then went up to over 30 lbs. The weather again is beautiful.. We headed up the line and got to where we were going before dark to fish a couple hours for rock cod and then we headed west into the offshore mode. Scallops and fresh yellowtail for dinner. Polaris Supreme Trip Report 07-23-2016 Just a quick shout out to our jackpot winners from the Paul Hess trip. In the dual picture on the left is Joe with a 29.6 pound yellowtail on the right is Ryan first Place with a 34.8 pound yellowtail in the single picture is of Mary with her 33.2 pound yellowtail. Congratulations on the nice fish and sorry it took so late to get them up posted we been really busy looking for more fish and catching fish. The Polaris Supreme Crew !

Hi friends. Not too much to report today. Our weather was sloppy last night, sloppy this morning, and sloppy this afternoon. In all honesty, we were due for a good butt whooping' with the awesome weather we've enjoyed since July 2nd but the Stephens group did not deserve any of it. But, that's how it goes sometimes. Everyone is doing just fine considering and as we motored to the inside a ways, our ride is a lot better.

Anyhow, with the weather came a very slow day for us. The conditions made it difficult to locate any schools of Bluefin, whether on the machines or a visual sign, and with us being the only boat in the zone, we didn't quite connect. We gave it our all but considering the weather and latitude we remained at, we had to call it a trip right after Chef Shawn's killer Yellowtail taco lunch.

With that, we broke down our gear, TSP'd rails, and cleaned the boat from bow to stern and as of now (17:15 hours), the passengers and crew are catching up on sleep, reading, hanging in the galley, or getting cleaned up for dinner. I am the chosen one to serve dinner and deal with the elements this evening so we'll see how the turnout is for our seating. Hopefully, LB can keep it together.

So that is all. We'll be arriving to San Diego tomorrow around 08:00 hours and we'll chat with you on Monday as we depart for Paul Hess's annual 5-day adventure. Chat with you then.
