Hi Anglers,

Drew and the guys got in this morning off of Garth Kubeldis's Optima 1-1/2 day charter. They had a great catch for only 16 anglers fishing at 150 miles. The total was 39 bluefin, average weight being 29 lbs., 3 yellowfin, one being the jackpot fish at 35 lbs., and 11 yellowtail.

The POLARIS SUPREME is on line for an open party 2-day trip leaving Wednesday to target the bluefin again. At 10:00 am this morning one boat had just reached over 50 fish in the same area Drew was in and the rest of the fleet was heading that way. Once again we stopped on enough fish to fill up our fish hold 10 times. Unfortunately we only had 1 brief moment of biting fish. 2 bluefin tuna (40-50 lbs) 11 yellowfin tuna. Hopefully these fish get out of their funk soon.

The Apollo fished at San Miguel Island today for limits of Rockfish and 18 lings plus one nigh Halibut. The SFR Apollo trip is scheduled for next weekend. We are a go and only have 7 spots as of the time of this post. Sign up now by clicking on fishing trips.

Polaris Supreme Trip Update 09-29-2019 This nice grade tuna (20 to 40 pounds) is really giving us a hard time. We must've made over a dozen anchor jobs today following that around. Finally just before dark it wanted to settle in and bite good. We were keeping 10 going at a time for a while. It was all that nice quality with no skipjack! We landed a few yellowtail today and of course skipjack and small tuna everywhere we went. The weather did the same thing! I'm calling it the Camelot affect windy crappy weather at night and it gets nice starting in the morning and then starts all over with the nasty weather at night. Will be here again tomorrow and try this one last day before we have to head up the line. The Polaris Supreme Crew

Captain Mike Pritchard checked back in at 11:27 AM. We have been having tough conditions. We just landed a Bluefin Tuna that taped out at 133 pounds. We have nine fish on board. We have had a lot of lost fish. Getting them on the boat has proven to be difficult. Be sure to bring your heavy tackle. I would suggest 30#, 40#, 50# and 80$ outfits.
