Happy Easter! I have decided to put some ultra limited load open party trips together for fishing the northern Channel Islands this weekend. I have set up two trips on Saturday and Sunday the 10th and 11th of April. I anticipate trying to find sea bass in the morning and falling back on rock fish and ling cod for the rest of the day. These trips will be limited to only 20 people max!! This just seems to me to be such a great opportunity to get out to the islands on such a nice boat without having to deal with a crowd. The trips will depart from Sea Landing in Santa Barbara at 9pm Friday and Saturday night. The cost will be $175 per person. Please come join me and the crew aboard the Apollo next weekend. Oct. 16

I would call today a very disappointing day. We had The Rocks to ourselves today after a 3 day rest and I thought we were going to get um but it was not to be. 0 wahoo. 0. Not even a short biter. We trolled for 4 hours for nothing. I think what I'm trying to say here is we didn't catch any wahoo. We caught a few handfuls of yellowtail in the morning before the sharks took things over and after realizing there were no wahoo to be had we went offshore and looked for a kelp the rest of the day to see if we could get 1 that way or a bunch of Dorado's but that was not to be either. The fishing today stunk. Everything else today was lovely though. The weather today was really nice. The sun was out and the seas were flat. The food is always great out here and the scenery was lovely as well. We're working our way back towards home now to extend our fishing time for the trip. We're going to top off on those beautiful yellowtails tomorrow and spend our last couple of day

s hunting the bluefin tuna.

The Voyager just got a opening on the 28th of may and will be running a overnight mexican coast trip. Limited to only 16 passengers!!! Spring is here and good signs of surface action are appearing day to day. The cost of the trip is $115.00 and this will include your mexican permit. Today we saw yellowtail, dorado, yellowfin and bluefin of all sizes. Unfortunately we were only able to catch 1 yellowtail. Hopeful for tomorrow. The wise angler would bring an assortment of setups from 20-60 lb.

Captain Ryan from the SAN Diego checked in. 38 Passengers 131 Yellowtail, 21 Calp Bass, 5 Barracudda. Reel good action right on top.  We fish everyday!

~~Aug. 28
 It was a busy morning for us today but a kick back afternoon. For the second time this year we are not fishing on our departure day. We did the usual turn around throwing in an oil and fuel filter change. We offloaded, then onloaded and then we took off before lunch. The bait was OK. It looked great but lost some scales putting it in our tanks. We'll see how it likes 80+ degree water in a couple of days. I decided to skip this 30 mile yellowfin zone today and get down below while we have a window of good hurricaneless weather. There will be some wind the next couple of days everywhere but should come down nicely for a week or so everywhere if the forecast holds true. I'm still not sure where we're starting yet this trip. We'll either head straight to the rocks or drag our feet for a day and wait for the weather to get pristine. For now there is some napping going on and just some old fashioned kicking back. Something we haven't seen a whole lot of this year as it has been straight to fishing out of the gates.
 

Friday, July 20th, 2012

Good evening everyone. We departed this afternoon on a private family charter with an excited load of kids and adults ready to put their fishing luck to the test. We made a stop at the bait receivers and loaded up on some healthy sardines to bring with us on our journey to the southern fishing grounds. The bait looks good and everybody is ready to put said bait to the test. For now, everyone is in the galley, getting ready to munch on some prime rib, a Polaris Supreme departing night tradition. Our fishing outlook looks good as there are some scores to be had on Bluefin, Yellowfin, Yellowtail, and some Dorado too. As for the weather outlook, it's looking like it will be a little bit windy for tomorrow, but Sunday is looking like it might calm down. We'll see for ourselves tomorrow.

For now, we'll just keep on chugging down to the grounds and with that, we'll chat with you tomorrow evening. Take care.
