Who could use a spread like this one tonight?

Hello Everyone, Today we spent the day looking for kelps. The weather was windy with a lot of white caps. Through the chop we managed to find some kelps holding some Dorado. Never found the kelp with the mother load, but we were still able to scrape together some fish. Although choppy weather, the anglers still managed to have a great time during their annual Solex contracting 1.5 day charter. We look forward to next year guy! Back out for 2 days tomorrow.  It was raining wahoo around the Polaris Supreme today.  It wasn't raining wahoo on the Polaris Supreme, just around it.  We scratched out a good day though.  I told myself if we caught 40 wahoo today, it would be worth the run down here.  We caught 46.  It felt like we should of had 200, and with all the fish we lost today, that might not be an exaggeration.  We're just 5 shy of 100 for the trip.  If you add up all the halves and heads we wound in today, we might have a hundred.  The sharks were really bad out here today.  You wouldn't have wanted to go for a swim.  I say it was raining wahoo today because they were flying out of the water most everywhere you looked chasing flying fish and such.  It was an awesome sight to see.  I have never seen anything like it in my 15 years of long ranging. 

 We've really put together a very nice trip so far.  I wouldn't mind a little more tuna and some yellowtail.  We've left the stones and we're now headed up for the remainder of the trip.  We're going to check out the baja coast tomorrow in search of all the species and get in position for the rest of the trip as well.

 We're going to go ahead and chalk this one up as a travel day.  That's pretty much what we did today.  Starting last night.  And it was a rough one.  As soon as we got a couple hours northeast of the stones things got a bit windy and the boat started to rock.  Not good sleeping weather.  We got through it though.  Even Chef Mike got breakfast out without too much whining this morning.  Things started to smooth out a couple of hours prior to arriving to our fishing hole.  Our fishing hole didn't prove to be very productive though.  So we traveled up.  That's something you have to do on these longer trips when you fish the Rocks or the Ridge.  It's a long way down there.  So we caught a few wahoo on our travel day.

 Unfortunately the weather picked back up this afternoon and we've been scooping waves over the house steady since 3:00 or so.  Right now I turned it down swell for dinner because we have a couple hours to kill.  We're going to head back up to our tuna/wahoo honey hole from the beginning of the trip and hope for good weather.  Just two days left to fish on this trip.
       

Captain Mike Pritchard checked in with an update from the Tribute. We had decent fishing on Friday! Our 21 anglers ended up with 61 California Yellowtail and 1 Bluefin Tuna (up to 110 pounds).

The Tribute has overnight trips departing daily at 10 PM.

We started off the morning with a few strikes on sonar schools of yellowfin tuna. We thought we were on the right track but things soon slowed down to virtually nothing. A few of the guys were seeing schools up above us, big schools but weren't producing much more then we where. We went and check those out and it looks like there schools of bluefin with a little bit of yellowfin mixed in it of course the bluefin don't bite. We spent part of our morning looking at eight giant kelp patties for two bites on yellowtail which we lost. Right now it's about 2:10 we have 20 yellowfin on board and were wondering where in the heck they're all at. We have good weather and six more hours to look wish us luck.
