The San Diego checked in on March 16, with 25 yellowtail, 6 bonito and  100 rockfish catches.  Yo yo jigs have been the top producer so far but every school has boiled on our chum.Encouraging sign of fish for 1/2 the day today. Couple decent shots on all the popular presentations. We will try again tomorrow.

We had decent fishing again today at the Halibut grounds. We had a total of 11 nice flatties today. Then it shut off. It was a bit windy today. We will be back out soon. Listen to the audio from JJ for upcoming opportunities to fish on the Apollo. Thanks to JJ for being a great sponsor!

Hello Everyone, We just wrapped up our open two day trip. Local fishing has been really tough and was no exception on this trip. We hustled, got the boat ready and departed from San Diego quickly, so we could maximize our fishing time on this two day adventure. Although we got on the grounds very quickly and were fishing fast, it still was tough. There was a lot of searching, scouring, and moving around to try and find some action. Our persistence eventually paid off when we found a couple kelp pattys with some great Yellowtail fishing. It was wall to wall action. Just what the doctor ordered. Everyone had a chance to pull on fish and get introduced to the chaos that is offshore kelp patty fishing. Through the intense action we also managed to land a beautiful Dorado, that would later take jackpot. A very trying couple of days, however we did manage to piece together some great action for our anglers. Looking forward to next year! We depart on our Emerson and friends 5 day next! Today was one of those days in which our anglers and ourselves will probably remember for the rest of our lives. Not because of the amount of fish we caught, but the tremendous shows these fish put on. It all began this morning when we found a fishy area on our way to a spot in hopes of wahoo, tuna and grouper. We spotted a nice bird school in some beautiful looking water. When it first came into sight, still a couple miles away, we saw some 30lb grade tuna jumping around in the middle of it. When we got up to it, the scene was a bit different. The tuna were pushed off of it by a jumbo school of big stripped marlin. And what a show they put on for us. A couple of our anglers presented their bait or jigs in the right place and the right time and hooked into these big beautiful fish. They where tail-walking and jumping high out of the water everywhere. On top of that, we were constantly seeing free-swimming marlin on all sides of the boat. Some even came within five feet of the boat! There were literally hundreds of marlin around the boat. It was truly a sight to behold! Finally, after battling and releasing all the marlin we hooked, we carried on making our way to one of our spots that has been extremely productive for big wahoo, tuna and grouper the past couple months for us. When we got there we quickly boated a couple handfuls of very nice mid-sized yellow fin tuna. Even though the tuna where present, there was little to no sign of wahoo. All of our anglers having wahoo on their mind, we decided to make our way to a spot about nights run from where we were. We will be there at the crack of dawn tomorrow. Polaris Supreme Trip Report 07-13-2016 Good evening readers! We departed on Archie Steele's annual five day fishing trip. We left the harbor with a beautiful load of mid size sardines. There are a couple anglers who are new to the Polaris Supreme and we are eager to show them the Supreme experience! We will be fishing for yellowtail early tomorrow morning. Nice yellow Pablo! Made a little bit of squid and things were looking pretty fishy. Got one fish and saw some more. Game fish scene is straightening out.
